Played it today for the first time in eons. Still feel the same.
I have always enjoyed almost anything Glyn Johns engineered. Such a classy fellow.

Loved it from the first time i heard it--really came out of left field after the previous singles--totally different sound, production and 'feel'...somewhat daring departure and the horns really added a punch to it...great lyrics also...

It's great, of course. Slightly over the top and manic. But in a good way.

It has 100% too many horns tooting on it. Maybe i have sensitive ears but it's very shrill with those horns. Makes me cringe. Would love it without horns though.

Never cared for this song. The horns and crappy sound mix ruin it.

GREAT song! I would LOVE to hear them do it now. It fits the Vegas line-up perfectly. Mick did a killer version of it, from what I heard on the Webster Hall bootleg. I would love to see it as a closer a mess of distorted guitars in the end.

Always wondered why they never did this one live in the "modern era" . Micks solo version from Webster Hall is a ripper. Other than Mick maybe the others simply do not warm to it.
From memory I do remember an article with Jimmy Rip saying they had to really push Mick to do it.

The live version was one of the better tracks on GLIYWI, imo.

The most underrated hit in the Stones cannon. My wish is that they play it this time round and even start with it. You wouldn't find a better start to the show than that.

Exciting but insubstantial. Would have benefitted from better production. Still enjoy giving it a listen now and again though....

This was the song that got me hooked when I heard it the first time in 1966 as an 8 year old on Radio veronica... Been a Stones fan ever since. They should do it live, maybe on the 60th anniverary tour?

The word 'underrated' has been used too much; but I think it is entirely appropriate in this case. Like Silver Dagger I see this as the opener in my fantasy show.
I like that they kept the song, the actual released version, alive; the frantic speed, the volume,the horns - the imperfections.
