Unfortunately it looks like it will be a direct hit on NJ. This will be the second hurricane in a little over a year to make its way up to the Northeast.

Well at least they're finally giving storms appropriately scary names--and just in time for Halloween. I mean, the conventional list of goofy innocuous names--Arlene, Bret, Cindy, Don--come on, it sounds like a backyard family barbecue. Frankenstorm is a good start. How about a new list as well?
Curse of the Mummy's Storm
Creature from the Storm Lagoon
Storm of Dracula
Nightmare on Storm Street
Storm 9 from Outer Space
Storm of the Gorilla
Storm from Another World
The Storm from 20,000 Fathoms
The Neanderthal Storm
Stormzilla
The Storm Creature
Storm of the Cobra
The Creature Storms Among Us
Indestructible Storm
Stormwolf
Storm of the Demon
The Storm That Couldn't Die
Behemoth, The Storm Monster
The Four Storms of Jonathan Drake
Night of the Storms
Terror Is a Storm
The Killer Storms
The Hideous Storm Demon
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Storm

I was really hoping for a 40 foot storm surge to hit D.C. but it's not to be.

Batten down the hatches, hurricane Sandy is heading you're way if you live on the eastern seaboard of the USA. People here are panicking already, can't even find bottled water anymore in the stores and it's not supposed to hit for a few days.
It does sound like a bad one, so be prepared and stay safe everyone.

Ha Ha! Amazing how we are on the same page here. I was thinking just the same thing! Only, not exactly the 40-foot surge, I was just hoping the storm would concentrate itself on D.C. and nowhere else--and on a weekday, of course.... I also thought of The Blob and Storm Kong but didn't post those, so I'm glad you did!

Whoa there...me and a whole bunch of other Stones fans live in or near DC! Tell you what, we'll all airlift out of here and come to stay with all of you near London, just in time for the Stones concert. I don't eat or drink too much, just get me a ticket and I'll be fine.
