It’s one of my least favourite Stones songs.

I’ve always found it to be just a drone. And I don’t much like Mick’s “singing”.

The instruments are just too cluttered for me.

But I do think it’s a precursor to JJF, where they found a way to harness all that sound properly, distinguish each part, yet also make it “heavier” than it really is.

And yet that 'clutter' is what makes it stand out as different. It predates any other 'freakout' songs I can think of. The pace is relentless. Personally I think Mick's frantic singing is great on this number. Keith's guitar is demonic. Bill's bass steamrolls like a runaway train. I understand you might not like it. I do.
