Either Far Away Eyes or Dead Flowers, one or the other would be fine with me.

Down Home Girl - well it's kinda country soul. Don't think they ever played it live. The line about turnip greens cracks me up every time.

Keith and Mick really should write a new country styled song for this purpose. ABB was severely missing a good country song.

I could tease you and say Victoria Pearman (Swansea Girl) who is the sister of my mate Richie but that would be a lie...no..it's just an organic thing ....see what we get....see where we go....probaly no-where but we will have a definative Stones setlist drawn up by the Hardcore...so at this point just for fun...Eddie

I've never thought Dead Flowers, Torn and Frayed and Through The Lonely Nights to be country songs before entering this forum. All three require Taylor btw.

Why Torn & Frayed? Ronnie's lap steel on the 2002 version was better than Taylor's contibution in 1972, imo.

Didnt Mick say in an interview recently that if left alone he tends to write country music? He has to constantly remind himself not to do so. Seems a shame that someone with a talent wouldnt explore that avenue, especially as it is quite absent from all of their recent recordings.

Those songs don't "require" Mick Taylor to be played. That is probably the dumbest and lamest thing I've read in quite a while. How doltish.

I know this is stretching it, but I consider 'Sitting On A Fence' to be a country entry. Would be great to hear this obscure song played live, though I don't know if either guitarist has the facility at this point to pull it off.

Gotta go Dead Flowers, I always thought Faraway Eyes was a bit of a parody of Country but maybe that's just me.
