Yes, good book. Cool Keith story in it too...
Even though it's VERY believable Henley and Frey are egomaniacs,Felder just comes off bitter throughout the book.

He acts as if he himself was one of the founding members.

IMO the only thing that makes the Eagles slightly bearable is the great Joe Walsh.

He said, "We haven't had that spirit here since nineteen sixty nine"

For what it's worth, I've seen Timothy B Schmit several times at the local Deli I often frequent on Sundays.

Big Eagles fan, but they MUST get rid of Andy Reid. They'll never bring home a ring with him at the helm.

Yes, can't wait.
I always thought Walsh is one of the most underrated American guitarists ever.
And I mean by the media/public.

I was always fascinated that the English guitar rocks Gods befriended and respected him back in the 70's. You'd be hard pressed to find a White American guitar player that guys like Page, Clapton and Townsend would hang with and praise - but they all hung with Walsh.

I thought it was so cool Keith mentioned him in his book.

Felder is such a great guitar player.I wouldn't pay a penny to see the Eagles again. This guy got screwed and Henley is the main hatchet man.

ME: "Hi Mr. Henley, how are you today?"

Henley: "Don't ask me, ask my lawyers how i am"

Waitress " Hi Mr. Henley, waht can I get you today?"

Henley " Ask my lawyer, he will order for me"

They were nice little "birds" in the beginning but fame and their creepy manager Irving Azoff made them jerks.

I would quote The Dude from The Big Lebowski, as he summarizes my feeling towards the Eagles perfectly, but it would be censored. They are capable soul less corporate easy listening rock. Good for a few tunes, but then...well you get the picture.

"Victim of Love" must be one of the greatest live songs ever made. What a crowd pleaser!

Written by Don Felder/ John David Souther/ Don Henley/ Glen Frey
Lead vocal: Don Henley
Slide guitar: Joe Walsh
Lead guitar: Don Felder

I was never a big Eagles fan, but did appreciate who ever the hell that guy was carrying the band with all the key musical bits, the guy who never got credit, the guy cut from most video at key times.

Never paying the band much interst I never bothered to learn his name over the years but used to bitch to folks about how there was one realy good musician in the band. Have not read the book but can appreciate his complaints.

I finaly though I better see them this last time around and I will say they surprized me in one regard. They did feature the replacement guitarist all the way through the show with excellent blending of clips so that you got to see the guy who has to do the work, so I was vindicated to some degree. Other than that I could not place this band, seemed all over the place, it was the Don Henley show for the most part, skipping Frey songs, which was actually a good way to portray it, sprinkled with Joe Walsh watered down to fit the Eagles softness.

With all that said, for my money Desperado is diffinitivly the best ballad of the rock erra and I went to see that particulary and it was worth the price of addmision.

I agree, they did seem to find a way to water it down.

I saw them about 5 or 6 years ago, and it was quite sterile...boring actually.
No denying they have ALOT of great tunes, but I could have just listened to my stereo at home and saved a load of cash.

Love them up to One Of These Nights though I do like a couple of tracks on Hotel California. Really like Joe Walsh solo but not with The Eagles.

Saw them supporting Elton John and The Beach Boys at Wembley in 75. Joe Walsh also played a solo set, premiering his amazing So What album.

I don't think there is very much to actually dislike.

For me anyway, just hard to be passionate about the Eagles.
