They did stadium tours pre-1999 which had both normal prices and stage shows every bit as large and costly as they are now. The Bridges To Babylon tour being a case in point - it cost $1 million a week when they were on tour just to keep that hydraulic bridge on the road, and then use it for 15 minutes each show. The tickets cost no more than $65/£40 and it was still the biggest grossing tour to that point.

The reason the tickets got pricier is solely down to greed. Its got nothing to do with overheads, so 'cost cutting' isnt an issue.

Keef and Ronnie are off the booooooze so that's a slice of about $50-million off next tour .....

they'll do 10-20 nights at the 02 in london, 10 at madison square garden, 10 at forum in L.A. Then one big show in Texas at Cowboys stadium to cover the south. then its off to mexico....etc.

10 Show's in Brussels to cover the BeNeLux and north France
10 Show's in Berlin for Germany and the east block
and so on

I'd be fine with the entire show being done with a b-stage lineup and minimal props. Back to basics.

Put the four guys on stage an make them do all the parts. Maybe keep Daryl or Bobby. Get Bill back would be the best thing but it aint gonna happen. Honestly though I don't expect this at all. I really dislike much of the last 30 years to be frank.

Why does Cohl get so much heat here? I'm not defending him or anything, it's just that he only does his masters' bidding, and they are the ones responsible - not him.

Musically speaking, I wish they'd get rid of Chuck "The Plodder and Plinker" Leavell. His playing with the Stones is soulless. I don't care what he did with the Allmans 100 years ago. Get a real boogie-woogie piano player. That guy from NRBQ would be great.
