can someone recommend me great early-Ronnie Wood era live show to download. I'm thinking 1975-82. I'm sure i will be able to track it down on the HotStuff section of this fine site.

I'm looking for a hot show, and great quality audio.

thanks in advance!

(oh, audio - not DVD)

The 78' tour was great, by 81' Mick Jagger was shouting and barking instead of singing.

Atlantic City 89, Tokyo 90, Brixton 95. Bremen 98, Ron is not in the best shape here. Garden State is good as well.

I quote totally, best sounding show of 1978 (thanks to marvellous recording too), and for sure one of the best concerts of the ronnie-era.

Yes indeed. The sound is amazing. Only found it 6 months ago...and was like where you been all my life?? My first boot from the '78 tour was "Out On Bail" and Memphis 78 I got years and years ago...both okay sounding sounboards. I assumed all 78 material was the same quality so I never bothered to look for more. Then with the help of the Hot Stuff section here I finally wanted to see what all the hoopla was for this one...and man was I blown away.

Great that ft.worth can still be a new one to people,as it was released by swingin pig in 1997,,,or 1998.

Btw Justin,i hope you have 78 tour rehearsals as well?

Released by Swingin Pig in 1996.
BTW, the "Halcyon" version is not that different from Handsome Girls

I see DCBA beat me to your question......yes the VGP version is the one to get - it's better soundwise than the "Swingin Pig" release, and also more complete (talking between songs)
I find the sound of the TSP release to be overloaded.....same goes for their release of Atlantic City 89

I hafta go with Garden State '78 as well. IMO, one of the best versions of Love in Vain EVER.

Also, you can go new school and dig up Paradiso from '95. (The Wild Horses EP) The best version of Gimme Shelter ever. The guys broke some serious ground in the tours of '97 and later with songs like Can't You Hear Me Knockin' and Sister Morephine. Ronnie's guitar work on the latter is phenomenal.

The Stones really got back to the nitty gritty with Woody, so very missing after Brian, so it is really raunchy-good in 75, rock n rolly in 78, 81 was a great assortment of friends onstage. In any event, in a musically mature way, the Voodoo Lounge period was very advanced, Woody was shining with the slide guitar.
