1. The Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed
2. Love - Forver Changes
3. The Pretty Things - SF Sorrow
4. The Beatles - Revolver
5. Bob Dylan - Blonde On Blonde
6. The Clash - London Calling

9. Led Zeppelin III
10. Primal Scream - Screamadelica

And yes, it does vary. When people ask me why there are no soul or r'n'b (old version) artists in there it's because they made better singles than albums. And don't get me wrong, I love women musicians to bits but I couldn't really put Patti Smith, Joni Mitchell, Kate Bush, Aretha Franklin or Ella Fitzgerald above any of the top 10 as they are all such pinnacles.

Damn, this is tough for me...I'm going to limit it to one album per band, just stick to rock, and not include any 'greatest hits' compilations.

In a couple of hours, I'll probably be smacking myself on the head for leaving certain albums off of this list, but here goes (in no particular order):

Get yer Ya YAs's Out - the Stones
Revolver - the Beatles
Physical Graffiti -Led Zeppelin
Are You Experienced? - Jim Hendrix
Who's Next - the Who
Raw Power - Iggy & the Stooges
Never Mind The Bollocks - Sex Pistols
Loaded - Velvet Underground
Ace of Spades - Motorhead
Arthur - the Kinks

That album sums up my first year of college for me. An album which is what they call a "game-changer."

Teatro - Willie Nelson

Surprised by that choice, Koen. I'm a HUGE Willie fan myself. Don't remember picking that one up but I do know the track "My Own Particular Way" and was bothered a bit by the production. I shall have to pick it up.

Other great Willie albums: The classic Phases and Stages. "Songbird" produced by Ryan Adams. I thought "Moment of Forever" was pretty strong...Kenny Chesney produced that. It's a little flashy but it's got some good songs on there, particularly "Over You Again" and the funny "You Don't Think I'm Funny Anymore." I enjoyed the cover album he did of Cindy Walker songs. His blues album, "Milk Cow Blues" is pretty sweet. Didn't really enjoy his latest, "Country Music" even though it was more "back to form" nor did I like his collaboration with Asleep with the Wheel.

Still though...it's Willie...God Bless Him!

Can't go wrong there!

My other favorite post-Pet Sounds BB album is Sunflower. Some fantastic Dennis Wilson songs on there like the addictive "Slip On Through."

Rod Stewart - Every Picture Tells A Story

The album that made me re-think Rod Stewart all together considering I didn't think much of him in my early 20's while he was beginning to release his Songbook collections...

Inspiring song isn't it. I love the way Sly reinvented it, seemingly pointing te accusing finger of the original back at himself. (Or maybe it was the drugs)
