Stray Cat Blues is pretty creepy, since you're talking about having sex with underage girls. Midnight Rambler, studio version, is the spookiest.

Sing This All Together (See What Happens).

Creepiest- Family, Stray Cat Blues

Scariest- Midnight Rambler, Dancing with mr D

I don't know that they're able to be taken as seriously when doing menacing/creepy/scary post-1976. Undercover, Too Much Blood, Terrifying? -they almost get there but not quite. The last successful one was maybe the coda of Fingerprint File: "who's listening to?....YOU. How's it feel on you?" Although some might claim Streets of Love was pretty damn scary to them.

I don't know. Undercover has a sense of real menace about, especially when taken into the context of what was happening in South America at the time. I thought it was kind of gutsy.

Don't Stop creeps me out. The sound of a once great band coming across like third division Stones copyists. Brrr - I'm getting cold shivers down my spine just thinking about it.

Paint It Black - the humming (by both Mick and Keith) really is annoying.

The long stretches of lonesome harmonica and aimless guitars along with Micks Ch' Ch' Ch' Ch' sounds through the harp mic in 'Two Train Blues" or "Still A Fool' on the Necrophilia LP. Then it ends with the strange slide sounds (Brian Jones?) mixed with the out of sync harmonica.

Man that used to sound like something really dark had just happened.

Then listening to "I Dont Know Why" on Metamorphosis knowing Brian was in the middle of the end at the same time.

The creepiest of all is Backstreet Girl. Basically, Mick is telling some insignificant poor girl to keep her mouth shut, to stay away from his wife, to not speak to him at all, to pretend she does not know him, to look away from him in his presence, and to be available for sex at all times. He also indicates she has boorish manners and may have come from a bad background.

But the spookiest thing is the contrast between the lovely melody of the song and Keith's masterful guitar work, and the chauvinistic lyrics.

I love it.

Gimme Shelter-creepy, sinister, apocalyptic and full of dark foreboding. Ethereal Brilliance.

Sister Morphine

No question that's what it is for me. A lot of their songs may have a creepy subject, but there's other feelings in the music. This song is about something creepy and sounds creepy too. It took a while for me to appreciate it but it grew on me.
