I had wanted a Fender amp forever. That was the ultimate. I had a vintage Reberb, then a Twin. But once I started playing in clubs, I hated the sound. Playing a Telecaster through a Fender amp, its too trebly and thin. Its fine for recording because you can do things, put it through things. My friend convinced me to bite the bullet and use a Marshall. I haven't gone back since.
Fender amps are cool, but limited in live settings.

The trick with playing a Telecaster thru a Fender is actually very simple and works like a charm: turn the damn treble down. It works, I promise you. Been doing it for years.

But I like the Tele as twangy as possible....and through a Marshall, you get the twang with the heavy bottom. It sounded great when I was in a room, but in a club, thin. ANd, sorry Keith, I like the crunch that I just never got with a twin or reverb. Maybe its a power thing.

I probably can't be bothered with the mods! I really like the clean sound though. And I'm just hoping to get a decent pedal for some crunch. Yes, I'm playing in a band.
