Just put any mp3 on your phone and use it as ringtone. I use Neighbors, scares the crap out of people around me, when Mick starts shouting winking smiley

Hi, bernardanderson, I believe it's more a thing to show some indivualism and lift yourself a bit up from the mass or kind of "express" yourself and maybe out yourself as a Stones aficionado, like Scooby and SwayStones said above, maybe even get some positive reaction once in a while, or have some childish fun to even affright some people with Mick's shout: Cheers mickjaggeroo.

I edited the piano intro from Loving Cup into a loop... so it takes a bit longer than the original... Fantastic ringtone, everytime the goosebumps!!

Further more I have edited samples of:
- Rain Fall Down.. need I say more?
- Can't You Hear Me Knocking (various samples)
- I'm Not Signifying (the part with horns and thus the guitar and harp solo)..
sounds fantastic!
- Flight 505: piano intro
- Doncha Bother Me
- Casino Boogie (during solo part)
- Back Of My Hand (intro part)
- Terrifying (2 trumpet parts)
- Sweet Neocon (intro)
- Out Of Time (intro), but this song is not loud enough to be used as a ringtone.
- Under My Thumb... same as Out Of Time

Great stuff you have, and I really like the Loving Cup intro.

PS: I'd like to mail you. Would you mail me your e-mail address? Thanks.

I just mailed you, incl some ringtones. Have fun!

You're welcome!

Just thought of it, about adding Under My Thumb from Still Life as a ringtone. That version is actually loud enough!

And apart from that I think it should be funny to use the intro of Still Life, introducing the Rolling Stones. Would be very funny if it would be one of the Stones calling... ;-).

Yep, wouldn't that be a cool ringtone? Beginning with the last bit of that Take the "A" Train intro, then Bill Graham at the peak of his voice "Thank you very much, Ladies and Gentlemen, would you welcome please THE ROLLING STONES!", leading into Under my Thumb, and all that real LOUD! (Question: To which time could it be brought down to? Cause it's meant to be a ringtone, not a concert.

Let me know when you've got this ready, I'd subscribe to it. thumbs up

I've been going through youtube looking for some cool Stones ring tone for my mobile phone.

Basically it is all about a powerful intro, in - of course - a good sounding version.

There are many choices, but I am still undecided. Last I was trying to find a useful (i.e. useful for the specific purpose) version of Not Fade Away. Not found one yet.

I've been considering BS 68 version w/Clapton, All Down the Line, Waiting on a Friend, Start me Up, JJF live 68 HQ, HTW Hyde Park, Tumbling Dice inter alia.

I am getting spoilt for choice. Any suggestions to me?

Intro to Midnight Rambler from Brussels '73? You won't miss a call again.

Exactly! I don't know to which time it can be brought down to. If it get's a bit long, than you should let the phone ring and not pick it up winking smiley;-). Then use the ringtone for contacts you don't actually want to talk to! grinning smiley

Anyway, it's worth a try! I'll let you know whether the intro and Under My Thumb are suited for an edit as ringtone!

By the way... With the Stones Catalogue there are plenty of songs and riffs which are perfect for a ringtone! But, because there are so much, I only make an edit once in a while ;-).

You'll most certainly here from me!

As you said, precisely, a bit of The A Train, then Bill Graham with swelling applause from the audience coming in, and the first notes of the song. All real loud and condensed to a length suitable for a ringtone. It would be quite something. BTW, Still Life were my first Stones shows, 1982.

about 2 weeks ago, my 8 year old daughter took my phone when I was driving. Two minutes later, she gave it back to me. A minute after that, I started hearing "Under My Thumb", followed by her giggling. It turns out she was calling me from her cell. She changed the ringtome from a standard ringtone to that song. It works so I kept it...

- Sexdrive... "Bangs" in as a ringtone (Mick Jagger).. the intro then repeating the main riff.
- Might As Well Get Juiced, the harp solo part... juicy!
- Hot Stuff... intro, incl a bit with the piano, then some repeating of it...
- Crazy Mama... driving ringtone of the main riff, also with some repeating...
- Ventilator Blues, someone mentioned it.. it works with that opening riff!

I'm trying to get the intro from Still Life to a decent edit, into Under My Thumb.. but it stays a concert because of the loud audience in the beginning, thrilling on cd, but not really as a ringtone.

I now have an edit from Under My Thumb as a ringtone. I'll work on it later on.

Yeah, thank you dear all for your help.

By courtesy of some posters on this board I am having now a cool variety of Stones ring tones on my mobile, viz:

Crazy Mama
Hey Negrita
Loving Cup
Neighbours
Not Fade Away

However, I am still missing a loud rocking version of JJF ring tone.

Any advice or assistance will be valued.

Edit: NEIGHBOURS being my favourite.

Hi Sway:

JJF: Live or studio or whatever really doesn't matter. Anything's fine as long as it is clearly loud and rocking right from the start.

To update this topic:

Now, after some time has passed since my son has installed me a number of ringtones on my cell phone, and I could test them all, I want to let you know my favourite one, which I am using most of the time:

ALL DOWN THE LINE
Sometimes it makes the people round me groove.

The other one (recommended to me by mickjaggeroo, thanks mick) is
NEIGHBOURS
which I am using only if I feel like making some noise or shake a bit my fellow passengers on public transport.

Hanging on the Telephone (Blondie)
Who Can It Be Now (Men at Work)
Jive Talkin' (Bee Gees)

I have the following Stones songs as ringtones on my phone (unless otherwise indicated, these are the first 10-15 seconds of the song):

Confessing the blues
Empty Heart
Everybody needs somebody to love
Gotta get away
I can't be satisfied
It's all over now
The last time
Little red rooster
Look what you've done
Love in vain (the second MT solo)
Sad day
The singer not the song
The spider and the fly
Time is on my side
The under assistant west coast promo man
Under my thumb
Wild Horses (first two notes only, used for text messages)
You can't catch me

One thing I've noticed is that it's the unlikely choices that work so well as ring tones. Look what you've done, Empty Heart, Little red rooster, Under my thumb. They all have a cool and distinctive first few notes. Of course, so do Satisfaction and The last time, so maybe it's just because I'm sick of them.

I use "Brown Sugar". For one thing it makes a great ringtone, secondly "Brown Sugar" has been my nickname since high school as my last name is Brown.
