Yes. Go. I saw him in Falls Church, VA over Memorial Day weekend. An excellent mix of J. Geils and solo stuff, with lots of stories in between. The warmth and love for the music just radiates.
I saw him in Buffalo in a 400 seat club and he was AMAZING. Great music (half from his last 3 solo records, half Geils and Cover, mostly early stuff that you may have heard on the Full House record). Great stories of sneaking in to see Muddy Waters and other great bluesmen as a teen. Very tight band with some very good arrangements of both old and new material. This is NOT the Peter Wolf of 'Centerfold' and 'Dancin In The Dark'. More mature, yet still rocking.
I would strongly advise you to pick up his latest record. It's great, and it comes across even better, live.
