The
Little Red Rooster/Off the Hook combination is right up there and
Street Fighting Man/No Expectations,
Mother's Little Helper/Lady Jane and
She's a Rainbow/2000 Light Years From Home were singles in some places and are, too, if they're counted.
If you're counting just the A-sides,
Satisfaction and
Get Off of My Cloud would be, of course.
19th Nervous Breakdown/As Tears Go By.
Brown Sugar/Bitch/(Let it Rock) is one of the best combinations but like most of the seventies singles, it's a couple of tracks from an album stuck together. Like
Wild Horses/Sway and
Happy/All Down the Line.
But counting both sides, and restricting myself to singles which were primarily singles, rather than extracts from the albums (i.e. the Decca singles),
Ruby Tuesday/LSTNT and
JJF/Child of the Moon would probably be first and second or second and first. And they'd be at or near the top, anyway.
