Per Macs website- at first glance, this would seem to bode ill for a Stones tour next year- does Mac know something we dont?

They could theoretically play earlier in the year and still have time for a Stones tour later in the year.

Or a RS tour could be 2 or 3 months... We're assuming any potential tour will be like the long tours they've done in recent decades instead of the ones they did up to 1982.

The Faces only play a handful of shows, I don't see how that could interfere with a possible Stones tour.

BTW, there are some funny jokes on his page: [www.macspages.com] smiling bouncing smiley

I can't find any hint of faces playing in 2012 on this website.

Wasn't the sentence: "Next year, we'll rock the USA, Germany & Australia too!" written last year on this pretty faces-board ...?

I remember the canceled gigs in Germany earlier this year ...

Sometimes the waybackmachine [wayback.archive.org] can help, but, I guess, not in this case

Woody did a Stones and Faces tour in 1975. It would be great to hear Woody playing in top form with the Stones after a Faces tour.

1. Unfortunately, the Faces without Rod = tens of fans showing up for concerts in most US cuties. Clubs, maybe a festival?

2. Maybe Woodie is not in the Stones plans (but doubtful)

3. Maybe Woodie will dump Faces the second Keith calls him.

4. If the Stones don't go out till next Summer (in time to play Northern Hemisphere stadiums), Woodie can play for months and not miss a thing.

YESSS! Very happy to hear this. Thanks.

Don't forget Queensland, Ronnie, like the Stones did in '06.

1...The Current Faces are a very good, entertaining band. they play with a lot of joy. You must see them, Enjoy.
2....????????????????????????????????????clearly your mind and brains are somewhere else
3.... keith has called him., but Jagger still has to call everyone. the waiting is on Jagger. And it will be along time before he does so.
4.... A new tour wont start till next summer (Europe), so Ronnie can start gigging till March.

5. The Faces can be the support act for The Rolling Stones.

The success of the new Faces could inspire Keith and Ronnie to get the New Barbarians on the road again. I'm sure Keith must be looking enviously at them and realising how much fun Ronnie is having.
If Mick's new band go on the road then it will only be Keith who isn't touring.

Hate to be that guy, but it ain't Faces without Rod and the Stones touring days are done. Hope I'm wrong.

Know what you mean Elmo, despite the great reviews on this board. I know how I would feel if the Stones went on the road with Mick Hucknall rather than Jagger on vocals. Wouldn't be the Stones, would it?

As to your second point, yes, I'm afraid that the longer it has gone without a sniff of more shows, the more I've come round to the idea that we won't get another tour. If I'm wrong, great, roll out them warhorses one more time. If I'm right, I can live with it.
