Deadstring Brothers (US/UK based)

I just found out that the Deadstring Bros. played for free in a cd store in my neighborhood weekend before last, and I missed them! DAMN. I've got one of their cd's and really like them, they are heavily influenced by the Stones (for those of you who haven't heard them, they lean more towards the country sound).

There are so many US bands influenced by the Stones. Like CBII said, Aerosmith and the New York Dolls especially. But also bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Creedence Clearwater Revival, ZZ Top, the James Gang, the Standells...the list goes on and on.

You wonder how many of these Bands that were influenced by The Stones would of started in the first place.Or that Kid who was in orr of The Stones had taken music lessons at school and later on gone out and brought his/her first Guitar or set of drums and become a Musician..there would have to be quite a few surely.
It just goes to show the influence some people can have on others..especially when it comes to The Rolling Stones

The biggest Dutch Rock band, Golden earing,
were influenced by the Shadows and the Beatles in their early days.
Not sure if they were heavily influenced by the Stones in de mid 6-tees and early 7-tees.
They grew their own for a large part imo.

The Golden Earring perfectly blended styles from The Who, Jethro Tull, The Birds into
a style of their own in the early '70s. But they never kept the same style for long.
They kind of went with the flow, but had enough creativity and musicianship to make very
distinctive songs of their own.
I don't hear to many Stones influences in their songs, though.

I think Q65 was more influenced by the (early) Stones than the Golden Earring:

I would add The Flamin' Groovies for the US (granted, they were influenced by most of the big 60's bands).

The Standells, though they had a very short shelf life.

IMHO, I think Aerosmith is mentioned more because the visual/physical similiarities, the music might be influenced by the Stones, but the guitars do not sound the same to me.
