Advance to 1:13 appears Mick had one too many. Rudy Nureyev looks like he had a few himself. Ahhh, the one and only Studio 54, the place where the celebs didn't need bodyguards.

Does anyone know what greens, reds, and blue pills were from that period?

Reds were Seconals -- downers. Greens -- probably Dexedrine -- greenies, speed. The Blues? See Robert Johnson.

But the line is "drop your reds, drop your greens & blues". Just sayin'.

Looks like Studio 54 was basically a gay bar.

You can tell that from a still shot ?
It's easy to assume that Mick might have been on something, but he may not have been zoned out, perhaps just posing or even trying to hide from the camera.
Michael Jackson, on the other hand, how did he get in there? Wasn't the minimum age back then set at eighteen ?
Oh, celebrity privilege.

reds = seconals, greens = placidyls and (i'm guessing here) blues = amobarbitals. they are all sleeping pills or "downers." there are other possibilities but i think downers fit the context of the song.

I'm going with reds=Seconal(sleep, downers), greens= Dexedrine(stimulant, speed), blues=Tuinal(strong sleep, downers). These pills were all considered recreational back in the day. The reds and blues were dangerously addictive. Took many casualties back in the 60's-70's.
