I always heard that gimme was how it was spelled in the US and Gimmie was in the UK. Also Neighbors was US and Neighbours was UK. Hope this helps.

Gimme is the 'colloquial contraction of the phrase "give me"' as in "easily obtained" so, I guess, technically, gimme in Gimme Shelter is "correct".

And then there was the film that was spelled GIMME SHELTER - as far as I know it was never spelled as Gimmie Shelter.

the video is total nonsense, impressing teen-agers at best... a disgrace to a true RnR masterpiece, not to mention a childish misinterpretation of the song

just goes to show which high levels in the Stones' creative process have been conquered by outsourced aliens (as in: no clue what the Stones and their fans all about)

I like the video. In all its simplicity it underlines the darkness and sadness of the song. I like how the drummer gets the focus at the right moments. Some of the lyrics in the subtitles seem to be wrong though.

This is excellent! Wonderful they put that much effort into a 54 year old tune. Love it.

Purchase what? It’s a video on YouTube there is nothing to buy.

They should do some kind of release incorporating the original album title with a bunch of leftovers, whatever they are, earlier takes of, any unreleased etc...

People wouldn't get what AUTOMATIC CHANGER meant.

This is The Rolling Stones at their best, the deep dark sound of Keith, the incredible voice of Mick, Charlie and Bill with a fantastic rhythm section, then Merry Clayton with a voice that makes a dead man cum and with Nicky Hopkins as the finisher (the best keyboard player ever). Perfectly produced by Jimmy Miller, the best producer The Rolling Stones have had.
This song is unbelievably extreme good.

I did too. It's a pity that each of the "dolls" has only one move, repeated over and over and over. Especially a shame with Mick. Would have been cool if they had captured many more of his hundreds of moves.

Still, a fun interpretation of a classic.
