Re: What's Your Rolling Stones Show Count?

I have seen them 43 times
Had tickets for Lyon 1998 which was cancelled

Also 2 times Bill Wyman + 3 times Mick Taylor

I am collecting the bootlegs of all the shows I've seen, and some are still missing.

For the setlist lovers, I once counted how many different songs I saw the Stones perform live, and I remember being way over 100 songs.

So, you've attended over a quarter of the 1,100-odd shows they've played since MSG '69? That would be quite an achievement considering theyve only played around 530 in the whole of the US and Canada in all that time.

I smell a very strong waft of bullshit.

Anybody who gets all 'superior' based on a show count is an idiot. Its not like people should be faulted for their relative youth, wealth issues or the fact that they have other things going on in their life which dictate that they have more important things to do than going to concerts.

There are plenty of people on this board who have seen probably less than five shows but who I can safely say are bigger Stones fans than I am.

Whether it's1 or 100 Sway it doesn't matter. As long you go and have a good time thst's all that matters.....And we're not real concerned with what Helter thinks at this point anyway. He's probably halfway through his bottle of xanax by now.moody smiley

...He's talkin' "since '69"; Stonestickets only started to be *REALLY* expensive since 1999 (No Security) or so. Before that, they were very affordable. Btw: at least in Europe there's still numerous tix on each concert/-tour that are very reasonably priced... not the best ones, true; but still... very affordable. And don't forget: people should always blame the PROMOTER for (high) ticket prices. I know; I used to be one. ;o)

But hey- I see were this is goin' ... And you're probaby right: either Mickscarrey is Mick Taylor's nickname, or he's just an attention junkie...

1976: 1
1982: 1

At least 1 (1982) too many. Still doubts about parts of the 1976 one.

Yes. Arrived at 5pm and there wasn't a soul there. Came back at 7pm and there was nearly 200 people in line. Another 200 lined up behind us. We just barely got in.

It was delightful because they stopped and started the show for tape changes and band (Keith) flubs. Keith would answer questions from the stage during the downtime. The best exchange was as follows (I'm paraphrasing):

Audience member" "Keith! Whaddya drinkin'?"

Keith: "Nuclear waste. It's vodka and Tang and it's so bad even I can't drink much."
