I know that Edward Hopper resided on Cape Cod and it was an inspiration for many of his paintings .

I'm going to guess that his subjct was the now defunct " Twin Lights " at Chatham .

I've many photos of the single remaining lightouse in Chatham but sadly do not have one of the " Twins "

Maybe Amsterdamned can explain, but me being from Rotterdam I don't understand our arch rivals and friends from Amsterdam at all.

I thought you were born in Nijmegen and live in Dordrecht .confused smiley

Edith Grove--did you see the Night Watch?

Yes, only one wing of the museum is open, and many of the classics are on display there.

Night Watch is one of the last displays you see as you go through the museum.

Thanks all, this was a great thread! And Boston. you are a romantic lad, aren't you now?? I also love light houses, especially the Nubble in York Beach Maine. I've photographed that hundreds of times! And Van Gogh, he has always appealed to me, maybe because he had such a tragic life.

You can visit now some famous museums (Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum and others) while sitting in your silk upholstered chair. You can virtually walk through the museum you choose.
Enjoy!
