It was a very good moment for Brian. He almost sounds like he is playing for his own funeral. This was his Swan Song with the Stones.
For what it is it's great. Very Rolling Stones in it's attitude but maybe not musically.
My choice... The Last Time. Killer riff - killer song!
Jumping Jack Flash might have been in the Brian Jones "era", but Brian Jones had precious little to do with that track . . he was on his way out of the group.
I would have to say Paint It Black was the pinnacle of Brian Jones' influence and visibility in the group. Who can forget Brian on the Ed Sullivan Show sitting on a Persian Rug playing the sitar?
His piano playing ain't too bad either.
Do we know it´s Brian playing piano in the studio now?

There weren't any sub-standard songs during his reign. First sub-standard album was Exile. Brian never would have approved of that load of shite.

Wow, this is the best post I've read in a long time. Certainly refreshing to hear that the Stones true Golden era was not in the 70's and had nothing to do with Mick Taylor.
