OT: Any good the Who biographies out there?

Just got hooked on the Who again after several years. Looking for a good the Who biography, preferrably one that has at least a little focus on the music.

Any suggestions?

Dave Marsh's "Before I Get Old" (1983) and Tony Fletcher's "Moon" (1999) are both very good.

Richard Barns' The Who: Maximum R&B is really good. I think it's been updated, since it first came out 20-some years ago. Good pictures, too.
Before I Get Old is good, too. However, Daltrey for some reason is no fan of it.
Another good one, too is THe Who Concert File.
Avoid Guilliani's (sp?) book on Townshend, Behind Blue Eyes.

Fletcher's "Dear Boy", the Moon-book, is really thorough and myth-busting, in fact it pissed off some insiders who say some of the things it claims are urban legends actually did happen. Still highly recommended.
That Richard Barnes coffee table book is really great, and besides of having lots of pictures there's also lots of words grinning smiley . I would go for that one.

Maximum R&B is indeed excellent, I have no idea where my copy is!

Anyway Anyhow Anywhere is a great coffee table chronology of the Who through 1978. Wish they would have continued through the post-Moon era.
Who Are You by Mark Wilkerson is a good Townshend biography. It's mainly a fact book told through interviews and such, but its a good unbiased account of Townshend and the Who's career.

Looking forward to check them out. Will be a great summer, then. Case closed.

"Dear Boy" Tony Fletcher's biography of Keith Moon, is an excellent read.
