I think it would be great to open up with "Please allow me to introduce myself..." First time in opening slot.

The window of opportunity for using Sympathy as an opener is closed. Sympathy might have made a good opener 15-20 years ago, before Keef's fingers became a complete liability. But, unless Keef shows marked improvement of his playing of the solo over his performance in Shine a Light, they should drop Sympathy entirely.

on SFD, i think Keith is still capable of playing an E,D, and A chords. The lead is easy. I learned it note for note when I was 15 years old. Ronnie can handle the lead. it is easy. we are not talking about learning "little wing" by Hendrix here.

No, sympathy is a way to slow intro song. Its more like a bonus number to me acctually.

I think the best intro song would be some old song, (pre -69)

I'd love to hear a reversion to the 1976 (think LYL or Ya-Ya's) and earlier way of playing Sympathy with the actual guitar chords starting the song, and not the drums / piano intro of late. I think that would be a great opener.

Rip this Joint would be a great opener.

This could work as an opener actually. It would need guitars BLAZING though, or else it would fall flat. I would recommend giving it a really low-key intro that's faithful to the studio version, then kicking into the Ya-Ya's version with the first chorus.

I know it would never happen - but a guy can dream can't he?

Anything different would be fine. I thought the whole JJ Flash and Start Me Up were way too predictable last tour. Would love to see them have the balls to open with a new song but doubt that will ever happen. Mother's Little Helper I always thought would be cool.
