Dicussed before? I don't know. What's your favourite standard tuning guitar intro or riff? I would go for Midnight rambler and Rocks off.

hard to choose, but if only one then it's JUMPIN JACK FLASH
The original version of Rocks Off is not in open G. Now to answer the question, Jumpin' Jack Flash comes to mind but ask me again tomorrow and I will probably give you a different answer!Quote

You can play it on standard tuning of course.................but is open G
I play HTW in standard tuning, but it's open G

It's never been open G, KeithNacho. How could he have made the F# chord intro w open G? One fret too low, you know.

Very easy to do: start in the 9th fret with the first riff, then you play for the F# chord on the 3rd fret (fifth string) and 4th fret (4th string) and simply add the 4th fret on the 5th string to complete the riff. get it? That`s the original sound.
Well Tricky, I don't have a youtube clip but I have managed to work out a passable version of "Can't You Hear Me Knockin'" in standard tuning. Most of the chord voicings sound OK but as you suggest the fingerings require a little more work. Still, I like working out tunes done originally in one tuning using another. It's a fun challenge...Quote

I'd love to see a youtube clip of someone playing Rocks Off in Open G and Can't You Hear Me Knocking in Standard. Way to make life hard for yourself
