While I like it...technically a Bill Wyman solo song.
I was joking, but now that you've mentioned it, I always wondered why they credited that song to Bill Wyman as the artist on a Rolling Stones record where at least two other band members appear on the track?

I read somewhere, that the only reason why they even used it (or probably more likely, Bill got credit), was because they were distracted by all the hype around their drug arrests.
When it came down to it, they used it because it was good, relative to the other material. Why they didn't make it a "Rolling Stones song" was because they didn't want to set any precident with anyone else getting writing credits on a "Rolling Stones" song.
Not sure if that is true, but it's logical given the virtual lock on the songwriting credits ever since.

It must be something that includes the essence:
guitar intro, rhythm section, riffs, refrain, bridge, solo,
fadeout
Gimme Shelter or Tumbling Dice, to me
the best compositions by anyone.
