Elton John was supposedly paid a million bucks to play at right-wing rabblerouser Rush Limbaugh's fourth wedding yesterday. It's not like Elton needs the money. As money hungry as they are, I suspect that the Stones would not have done the same if asked.

Rush does'nt care about hiring a gay man to play his wedding. Because he does'nt really give a crap about the BS and hatred he spews on the radio. It's just shtick to get him bigger ratings and money....Elton on the other hand must have needed the money.Quote

I was WAY more surprised that Elton would play for Rush than that Rush would hire Elton to play.
Whether you believe it or not...even though Rush is passionate about his political beliefs....it does not impact
every area of his life. THose that listen to him know....those that only believe what the mainstream
press says about Rush have NO idea.
On the other hand, Elton has been very outspoken (politically speaking) too. Unlike Rush...who combats
liberalism with ideas and debate....Elton angrily shoots his mouth off. Elton is less controlled and
tends to says stuff like "American Idol voters are racist" when they don't pick a black contestant
or homophobic for similar reasons.
I'm a fan of both of them. ( '70s era Elton & current era Rush)
My first thought (upon hearing this) was that obviously Elton did it for the money...even though he's
got a lot, he spends even faster than he makes it. And knowing that Rush had been a music (radio) DJ..and his
taste in classic rock "bumper music".....I was not at all surprised that he could look past
political differences in the name of good music.
Heck if we NON-Liberals only listened to / watched NON-Liberal entertainers....the pickings would be slim.
I would bet my bottom dollar that Rush gave Elton a GLOWING introduction. I hope Elton was equally a gentlemen.
WOnder if it was taped & bootlegged yet.
(just googled this story looking for more info.. the intolerant Left is out in full force...they can't understand how people
can separate political views & musical taste)

Did you really need 4 edits to say 'this'? Amazing, or actually and logically maybe not surprising at all.
the GOP are a weird bunch. they portray themselves as a tough, no-bullshit, strong on defense macho men that are here to destroy the enemy and raise the fist in victory, yet, when someone makes light of them, such as your boyfriend paul mccartney the other day, the GOP act like a bunch of weak crybabies. it amuses me.Quote

Also, this is supposed to be a NON-political site yet I see nothing but non-stop republican bashing that I just not let go.

Agreed. Fox News, Limbaugh, Beck, etc. are nothing but a bunch of hateful, racist liars. Al Franken even wrote one of my favorite book titles ever: Rush Limbaugh is a Big, Fat Idiot and other Observations.
