Dear IORRians,

On Friday the 2nd of january my best buddy heard that he might face a progressive muscle dissease that may have a huge impact on his live. If it is the truth, it might be either LS or ALS. You can imagine that this is hitting him hard!

Definitive diagnosis will be available end of February 2009!

I would like to have some positive vibes and feedback from you guys to support him. I would appreciate it if this thread could be as long as possible!

What A Shame it is to hear about your friend, and as somebody else mentioned, hopefully, the news won't be as bad as is expected. If it is ALS, Curt Schilling, the baseball player, has a foundation that does work with ALS (curtspitch.org). I don't know the details of what they do, but you may want to pass that along...there may be some support services that are available through them (depending on where you reside).

ALS, that's one scary monster !!! My message is different, tell him to fight it and get a second, third medical opinion. If he does have something medically serious I would fight it with a clean Vegan Diet, Plenty of vitamins/minerals/etc, exercise, yoga, relaxation exercises, positive thinking.... Doctors don't know everything (they think they do), Science doesn't know everything.... read all he can on the subject - all this stuff is not written in stone, there's ways to change things, get your body back in balance, I've seen a few friends do it - coming out of serious medical problems, it CAN HAPPEN !!! NEVER GIVE UP......
