"pwundered my soul" - mick's accent, or a speech impediment?

I'm so glad that the new track features the line "Plundered My Soul," because it makes a great example of something I've noticed before about mick's voice but never found the occasion to post about:

He seemst to have trouble pronouncing "l." Maybe it's especially when the sound is tied to a consonant like "p." So the chorus comes out, "... but you pwundered my soul," or maybe more like, "... but you pfffwundered my soul." Has anyone else noticed this? and starting when? I don't hear it on any of the 60s material, so I'm wondering (lundering) whether it's not so much a natural impediment as some side-effect of his migration through the upper classes over the years? Maybe the hated over-enunciation in his post-'89 vocals is some attempt to compensate, or is it part and parcel of the same ploblem?

full disclosure--I first really noticed this when listening to "Throwaway" a year or so ago... "You used to pway the Casanova" (it takes some guts to open the album with a line like that)... but I didn't want to admit how carefully I'd been listening to Primitive Cool.

I think it's his accent you are hearing.

Go Dawgs!

Mick always had odd ways of pronouncing stuff. During the whole 75-76 tour (SO annoying), then completely different during the 78 tour, and on Goddess as well. I think what you pointed out is a gimmick that he uses these days when he wants to sound loose and ragged (presumably in keeping with the Exile spirit etc). Can't say it's very efficient in this respect - Sir Mick has not sounded loose or ragged for decades now!

As we say in Holland: Sir Mick is sung out since a long long time.

has he not always done that? I thought so but then again maybe it's just me or I noticed it later and automatically attached it to everything else? I always liked that btw and do it myself alot when singing.
