The deluxe edition was 87.99 when I placed my order, not 179.99

Well, I just checked it out today to see about pre-ordering and the price was 179.99. With a bit of luck the it will come down, but if not, then it's the $23.99 version for me.

I truly love this album, but never in a million years am I going to pay that price. As Frank Zappa put it, "There's a big difference between kneeling down and bending over."

WOW, the price did indeed skyrocket, good thing I wasn't planning on getting this one....

Looks like you can buy JUST the vinyl as well for only $30.99, same release date as the other editions....so that's $100+ just for the 30 minute DVD and the book

You should go ahead and put in your pre-order. Amazon has a pre-order price guarantee; if the price lowers at all between the time you order and the day of release you will get the lowest price.

I've locked in the 87.99 price but if it lowers, I will get the best price.

I got mine locked in at $87.99 on Amazon. I'm a regular customer with them and these prices always jump up and down. Their pre-order may have been doing better thane expected and there is a shortage at the moment causing the price to spike. Once they are assured of getting more product in time for the street date the price will probably drop again.

It opened at $129.99, then fell to $98.99 and fell again to $87.99, before jumping to record highs. Had you pre-ordered it at first when it was listed at $129.99, you would be getting it for $87.99 as that is the best price to date. These price adjustments happen automatically. It's always best to get the pre-order in immediately as the prices always drop, but you never know when or for how long. The $87.99 price lasted about 12 hours two days ago.

I'm also a regular customer and fully understand the pre-order system--I got a good price on the deluxe GYYYO by pre-ordering. But come on, how is this a realistic price? Why would you jack it up to this insane level just because it was doing well (which I doubt)? And how can there be a shortage of something that doesn't even exist yet?

the price keeps going up and down. are we getting a barrel of oil with EOMS?

I dont think Amazon would be listing it for that much unless it's the suggested retail price. CRAZY

I already told you guys. The book has been bound in luxurious Corinthian leather. And the lettering on the spine has been hand-painted in gold leaf by blind Italian monks.

I'm locked in at the $87.99 price, which I still think is ridiculously expensive.
However, for what it's worth, it's still listed at $119.99 on Bestbuy.com.

The bonus tracks aren't available on vinyl anywhere......so far.

Which is strange, because at 42 minutes in length, the bonus material seems to have been specifically edited to fill an LP.
