This was a Holland/Netherlands-only release, I think.
DonĀ“t know how many copies; it is a bit rare - and beautiful!

The picture label (of them at dusk, as on inner sleeve) - is that rare?

Was that UK only? - or also available with the Blue dutch vinyl?

The blue vinyl LP has the same label design on both sides, as on the picture.

I think they released a bunch of these coloured vinyls in Holland in the 70's. I have most of them, but am missing this one.

I have orange Some Girls, yellow Between the Buttons, White Beggar's Banquet, red Let it Bleed, Blue GYYYO. In addition to these, I think there is also White Majesties, and Orange Big Hits.

Not sure why they didn't bother doing the entire catalogue and only those selections, or why they did some DECCA, and some RSR.

I also have sealed, pink Miss You 12" and red Miss You 12" from France!

It's like a RAINBOW!

From france ? I do not have them

Can you give some informations on the Some Girls : matrix number and pics. I saw one today but it seems too much new to be a real 78 one.

12 EMI 2802 is the catalogue number...sorry, don't have any photos...it is translucent red, with the yellow label. It is contained in the 'pink' band cover shot, common for the 45 version.

The pink one is the UK-version. The black one is from Germany (US-version was black, too)

btw as far as I know there is no orange version of Miss You in existence

If you hold the two Miss You's together, on top of each other (as long as you don't mind scratching them), the pink and the red...there is a sort of orange hue that emanates, as long as it is a yellow light that you are shining behind it.

And yes, there is of course the orange some girls, and also BIG HITS albums.

I also have a sealed BLACK vinyl US and an Australian Black vinyl.

I remember that at the time of release of all these coloured pressings (end 70ies/beginning 80ies) nobody really wanted them cause the coloured wax has usually a lower quality and so the sound. They were cheap and did cost half the prize of the original albums.Sometimes it wasn`t easy to find a usual black pressing at the time in Germany. The funny thing is that some of these cheap coloured pressings are very expensive today (like ACDC`s Highway To Hell in red vinyl). So you never know what becomes a collectabel item...

There are also many Japanese pressings on colored vinyl .

Don't forget the red Italian 'Some Girls' and the French one (w/ large sticker on cover).
Moreover, a hyper-rare missprint of the Italian SG plays Diana Ross, actually.
The colored SG were issued few weeks after the original release to apologize for the
re-making of the inner sleeve: this is the reason why you never find colored copies housed in original inner sleeves.

I have a copy of Some Girls from Greece (I think) in a gatefold sleeve - bizarre!

Is this a genuine rarity?
