Shattered / Everything's Turning To Gold is my favourite single combination they ever released.

There really are a lot of time changes ...

there are? I thought the whole thing was in 4/4.

Perhaps the 4/4 changes to 2/3 while staying in 4/4 somewhere in the middle part of the first half of the second stanza before the bridge post-chorus.

One track that never goes past me without me having to repeat at least 3 more times..... Every time.

The editing is weird though. In some places the tune just drops out. They seemed to love hacking their songs down.

This track should have gone on Some Girls instead of, say, Respectable.

Yikes! No skip, you can't jettison Respectable! Yikes, why not just add ETITTG? Right before Shattered. That would be cool.

Now just wait for kleermaker to say that this isnt a good tune because its not dark enough. Haha, But I must say that I am enjoying his posts more and more these days. I understand now that he is really serious and doesnt want to set people up to each other the way I thought so. So kleermakerthumbs up sorry I misunderstood you a while ago. Keep it up!!

OK. Get rid of Imagination and put Gold on instead.

Ha ha.

If I can remember it correct,at the single version it was the first (and only?) time that Ronnie was mentioned as co-writer,(Jagger/Richards/Wood)

You obviously don't have anything past that record then. Not "the only".

Aren´t there three or four brilliant 10 minute + takes of EITTG on the Place Pigalle-bootlegs. Stellar stuff, imo.

^^^^ Yep it was on Sucking in the Seventies. I've always loved this track, but I haven't heard it in a looooong time. (I need to get "Sucking in the Seventies" on cd, I only have an old cassette of it somewhere).

There is something raw and unfinihsed about this tune.
But I always loved it from the start . .

Just listened to this song on Youtube...the song is even better than I remembered it. To me it has a deep funky groove similar to Dance Pt. 2 ...but not as produced.
Great song, nice to hear it again after all these years.

I love the rawness and funkiness of this track, as others have mentioned. I especially love when Charlie kicks in at 1:27.

But at the break at 2:05, it's like all of a sudden, all the momentum suddenly disappears! What the hell?? Maybe it's the editing, like Skipstone said.

I think this is the third thread about this song in about 3 months. People must really like this one. I love it!!
