Early Arrangments
Date: February 6, 2010 16:22

Some of the very early cuts the Stones did have great arrangments. They were laid out so well, and the space of a bar is used so wisely that they overcome the poor recording quality of the day.
"King Bee" - the Bass bumps along, the low guitar hammer-on, drums recorded clean and hot; the instrumental of course is perfect with the bumblebee.
"Down Home Girl" - to me this is just genius. The Bass with the little walk-up, the hi pitched guitar that slides it back down on the other side of the line; and in between the second guitar is chakking in syncopation.
That crazy anticipated cymbal wash that Charlie does in "Honest I Do" on the Hi Hat, when the harmonica break starts.
And - has anyone checked out what Charlie does on the Hi Hat in "Poison Ivy" ? (The "No Stone Unturned" version.)
