After 12 weeks the DVD is #34 on the U.S video chart, I would like to know how many copies did it sold by now. I don't think it will reach the sales of Four Flicks, not even the half.
Maybe Pecman could help here.

I haven't bought it yet, and will wait for the bargain bin.
A Bigger Bang cd sold horribly in the US...only about 600,000 or so,
and I doubt the dvd will make a dent at all.

The heyday of the Stones are a thing of the past as far as new product.
The general public simply won't buy it. Thankfully they continue to tour.
The Scorcesse flick, along with the upcoming US tour may change things, but the chances seem slim.

I know I will go to the Shine A Light movie as will most of us here but for the life of me, I cannot figure out who else will? I read it will be in both movie theaters and Imax. I think the Imax will help attract the general public and the Scorcese name is getting it some publicity but in this day and age, does anyone think this will be a financial success?

The dvd already made a "dent". It was number one on the charts for the first three weeks I believe. No it won't sell as much as Four Flicks and I think most people would have predicted that since Four Flicks was a novelty and The Biggest Bang is kind of the same concept. A lot of people will skip the second set.

I'm surprised it's so hard to find sales numbers for it. I tried searching the internet too and couldn't find any sales numbers for it.

Four Flicks sold about 360k in U.S.
The Biggest Bang had good sales in Europe, it was on the top 20 of the Eurochart during 3 weeks.

Maybe Pecaman could help with soundscan numbers.

Thanks a lot Pecman, very low sales for Biggest Bang, Four Flicks sold 53,000 copies during the first week and about 360,000 by now.
A Bigger Bang sold about 1,000 copies since April.

these numbers are amazing since the stones are the biggest live draw ever, you would think one would go with the other

The Biggest Bang numbers are only disappointing when you compare them to the phenomenal sales numbers of Four Flicks. Nearly fifty thousand units should soon give it an RIAA certification of 200k or double platinum. Compare it to other videos that have been out for years.

25 by 5; 200k
At The Max; 50k
Gimme Shelter; 50k
Voodoo Lounge; 50k
Rock And Roll Circus; 100k

Some numbers are outdated, the B2B DVD sold close to 200k but didn't get a Gold certification yet. At The Max and Circus both sold a lot more than the RIAA certifications, the Circus DVD alone sold more than 30k.

I got the numbers in my last post from www.beatzenith.com. It lists their certified album and dvd sales. The site claims to get those numbers from RIAA. The Bridges.. dvd wasn't listed so you are probably right about RIAA being behind on some of their certifications.

So right now The Biggest Bang would be close to double platinum using the RIAA formula of multiplying sales by number of discs? I think in the end it will sell well but obvioulsy will probably pale in comparison to Four Flicks.
