5 years since last group record, 10 years since last solo effort by Mick or Keith, 3 years since last concert.

I need me some Stones...

I wouldn't call it a total dry spell. There was Shine A Light a little less than 2 years ago, Ya Ya's 2 months ago and Exile rerelease coming up soon. So that's still something I suppose.

Most of the 80's were pretty friggin' dry.

They are all over 60 and almost some 50 years making music...Plus they have more money then god so what do you expect..?
I'm not as old or as rich as they are and i like to kick back and relax.. I'm not sure what i would do when i'm their age...ha..

I also not too sure its as easy to record and then sell a new album as it was in the day? Bigger Bang sales were ok but who knows if a new album could sell even less.. and then a record companies many not even want them to make another album?
It may be they are seeing how record sales will be and if their type of music can sell? No point into investing a lot of cash and time if no one will buy. Sometimes its better to wait for a better time!

Well, ha ha, at some point there's going to be a very long dry spell. One called Forever.

UME doesn't seem to be expecting a new album soon do they. After all, that would be 'forward thinking' because they must have some trick up their sleeve for selling the record of a band that seemingly not many people care to hear anything new from anymore.

10 years since last solo effort by Mick

He did the Alfie soundtrack in 2004.

i've sorta decided they are more or less permanently dry - at least as a functioning band, but maybe not yet as a business entity

Alfie was released in 2004. Goddess in 2001. + BB DVD, Ya ya´s etc. Exile with bonus tracks in May. Could be worse, imo.

Well, if he manages eight hours of sleep every night...

Man that is f'ing frightening. Seems like only a coupla years ago it came out. I still think of Bridges to Babylon as a 'new' album and it's 13 years old!

Time certainly waits for no one...sad smiley

Yeah, I think this may be it for the world tours.
Im looking forward to Exile.
I would love to see more like this (albums with out takes)

I would like to see more albums along the Stripped idea.
Go in and re-record some of their existing songs. It would be interesting to hear how some of them would have evolved. Or grown up as Keith may say.

I would love to see a warhorses album with start me up jjf bs shes so cold etc re recorded.

it's not enough that they have played these songs to death on the stage - we now must hear them played again on new studio recordings? this must be what hell is like....

Miley can certainly be an irritant...funny, cos I really dig Hanna Montana....
