OT Is This The Greatest Music Video Ever Made?

I just saw the new music video for Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" and I was Blown Away. If this is not the greatest music video ever made then it's damn close. Must have cost way over a million dollars. Check it out below in High Definition :

Glorified cola commercial IMHO. Everything about her smacks of contrived phoniness.

I'll take this one as the greatest music video ever, personally :

Gag me with a spoon, this kind of crap is why we need another wake up call in the music industry, like when the Sex Pistols came along and shook the industry up.I didnt like punk but at least it was a wake up.

Gazza beat me to it.

As for Lady GaGa - she's saying nothing new,it's all
been done before, she's a reheated Madonna.

David Bowie's Ashes To Ashes is the greatest music video ever made. Period! Lady GaGa can suck it...

and some of you thing "Shattered" is a great song. The Lady GaGa has teeth - she will be around for a long long time. Best thing to happen to the music business is several years. Seriously. She can actually sing too.

With all due respect Duane in Houston, the new wave of artists do nothing but recycle the same old crap over and over. It's all machine driven and lacks any originality and substance. Anybody can program a drum machine and get one heck of a beat going and everyone is going to tap their toes to it. But once you look past the beat, you literally have nothing. Enjoy Lady Gaga and groove to what she does. She's just not my cup of tea - unless she's naked and sitting on my lap.

Thechnical seeing this clip is amazing.

For Lady Gaga, I think she isn't that bad at all and she will be around for a while.

Nothing new though but she impressed me with this perfomance on Dutch television ................

Doubble click to see it in big format

Stunning. Just stunning. Grown men have wept to this - me included. If I ran a pop video film school I'd tell my students to watch this and then come back with some equally as moving.

lady ga ga, whaaaaaa????; what the hell was that crap? If that is art in 2010, then we are all. Someone mentioned it looked like a Coke Ad, sure does. The Johnny Cash vid is very enjoyable.

There can never be a "greatest video"; but here is an interesting one . . .

Duane

Thanks for posting this.

I never would have known about it -- and honestly I've been heading for that old people's zone of not really knowing who/what what Lady GaGa but getting on my cranky horse of "sounds like bullshit commercial crap to ME!"

So, this video shows she's not bullshit. And it's an interesting, as you say expensive video -- some parts and aspects more interesting than others -- but it's got playfulness, humor, and interesting design and fashion and cinematography.

What I don't think some people see is this is not 1980s or '90s Madonna. Madonna was post-modern, trying hard to be shocking and rebelling against old culture and what she portrayed as suffocating traditions (I don't like Madonna and never did, but could appreciate what she was trying to do - revolt, rebel, against a backdrop of ultra-high-couture/gay-fueled fashion while shrewdly/cynically deliberately exploiting her sexuality and making bags of money). But Lady GaGa reflects a totally different era, and isn't post-modern. This isn't rebelling or reacting against anything. There's no bite or bitterness, or bug up her ass, as per Madonna.

Furthermore---not talking about Madonna anymore---she seems to be able to actually sing, and she is a good dancer. She has so much rhythm in her body. Even her fingers and the muscles in her face. The choreography was a relief too. So much of R&B and hip hop choreography is, to me, painfully bad. I was beginning to worry that it was an old-person's thing -- that I could no longer understand what choreographers were doing. I've dancer most of my life and choreography from the past 10-15 years has been AWFUL. But I always wonder whether I am out of it because age does conjur that first reaction "It's not me -- it's them and their lack of taste -- not like we had in the old days!!"

But seeing this choreography...it was intelligent and humorous and not beyond the capabilities of the dancers. And, as said, Lady Gaga apparently can move. She's physically smart. Unlike someone like Britney Speers, who you can sense no passion or lifeblood in her movements. Lady Gaga is clearly passionate.

When people say there is nothing in her that signals passion...that's just not so. She is very intense but restrained. And very funny!

As far as electronic music...well, right, this is a Rolling Stones board. So ears seeking out guitar, bass, and drums won't like this. But it's dance music. And pretty damn catchy at that.

So thanks again Duane. Seriously -- I don't know when I would have been exposed to her and given her a chance if not here! I'm not going to buy her music -- but I accomplished what I really like to: understand what it is that's actually good about an artist, if there is good to find in what they do. And there is here. Not my fave, but hats off to her.

I'm conflicted. Is it possible to love Gaga while still hating her obvious greatest influence, Madonna? I'm not sure that it is.

I don't get what's so great about it. It's neither bad nor good, to me it's just there, like most crap put out these days. And I got over thinking a video is the greatest ever just because it looks cool about twenty years ago. What's so special about this one?

And by the way, you guys need to take your dresses off, find your balls, and put your pants back on, your talking about LADY F-UCKING GAGA FOR F-UCKS SAKE!

What the f-uck is wrong with you people?!?

Stopped to look after 3.30.... why should this be the best and most expensive video? Another prove that Gaga is one of the most hyped 'products' of her time. in 2012 she's gone.

Lady Gaga's very talented. She can sing and dance and she writes her own music and got the look. All in all she's got everything for a pop career. She's kind of a new Madonna, only that Lady Gaga got much more talent that the old cow.
