Two photoshoots from GQ: from the book GQ Cool by Jo Levin. The introduction has quite a bit of "Stones content":
Here's Ronnie - alas, it's a double page spread and my scanner can't do it justice. The caption says:
Ronnie Wood
17 September 1992
Andrew Eccles
"I thought the easiest way to photograph Ronnie Wood would be to hire a white stretch limo and park it outside his hotel. I called up his room at 2 pm and he was still in bed. I begged him to jump into his Versace suit and told him I had a pint of Guinness waiting for him. He rolled down the stairs, climbed into the car and lay on the back seat. With his Guinness in his hand and his hair spiked, he lit up a cigarette ... and that was it."
Here's Keith's photoshoot - again, the double page spread won't fit on my scanner:
Keith Richards
7 May 1999 New York
Peter Lindbergh
"Peter (Lindbergh) and I drag the dustbins from outside the studio onto the roof before Keith arrives. It's raining - Peter's worried that Keith will not agree to be photographed outside. I tell him not to worry, Keith's used to the rain - he's British! Later, I sing an impromptu rendition of
Singin' In The Rain under an umbrella with the Glimmer Twin.
I love that little shot of Keith's back walking away....
