Steven Tyler Checks into Rehab
Posted Dec 22nd 2009 8:00PM by TMZ Staff

Steven Tyler has entered a rehab facility due to an addiction to prescription painkillers -- this according to the Aerosmith front man himself.

The 61-year-old singer told People he became addicted to pain medication after suffering multiple injuries over the last 10 years of performing.

Tyler said, "With the help of my family and team of medical professionals, I am taking responsibility for the management of my pain and am eager to be back on the stage and in the recording studio with my bandmates."

Multiple injuries over the years? It's called getting old dude. Most people don't have to go to rehab for it.

I was kind of hoping he would have made a solo record. Play with some different musicians and go into a different direction for a while.

I like the title of this thread. It implies that people wouldn't know who Steven Tyler was if it didn't say Aerosmith.

That lead singer from the Rolling Stones sure dances crazy.

Can you snort vicodin ? Would I need to cut it with anything.

Swollowing it takes about 45 mins to kick in.

Of course you can. But I suggest a single malt Scotch whisky & Perrier to mix it with.

i think oxycontin is better to snort ,also smoke a fattie with it to enhance it.

Yawn. I always thought Aerosmith was led by a poor man's Mick Jagger married to a poor man's Jimmy Page....I know this will be followed by a hundred posts saying they're the greatest thing ever.

Not the greatest thing ever, but still very very good and not so bad and ridiculous as you trying to make them. Have a look in the mirror. OK I'll take the last one back 'cause it's Christmas.

Best wishes to him. The poster who criticized Aerosmith for cancelled/postponed shows should look closer to home

Pain management is the only thing worse than anger management.

Yes, I do. Many threads about guitar parts, songs, etc...But being Christmas and all, I hereby withdraw my Aerosmith comments. I recommend everyone wait until very late Christmas Eve, when it's quiet, put on "Moonlight Mile", and reflect on what great music we have been given for nearly 50 years. How's that for positive? Peace to all.

Steven needs to get himself fixed up so Aerosmith can last longer than 80- 90 minutes on stage. He is a super nice guy and I wish him the best.

That guitar player for The Rolling Stones sure does sound funny when he sings.

Maybe Tyler should quit the backflips at his age. he's just going to keep hurting himself. Tyler is another one of those guys who could stand a new look. he's about 60 now, and that scarf thing, and the old whore look should be done.
One thing about Tyler: he has always been a very good musician, writer.
