OT: My Band's New Album "Torn and Frayed"
Posted by: wetland10 ()

I've been posting here for a while now. My band, Lone Shark, recently released a new album of original material titled Torn and Frayed. Thus far it has received some positive review and some local radio airplay. I'd be curious what you all think of it. Some of our songs definitely have a Stones vibe. You can preview the entire album on our website Lone Shark Website and clicking on music.

Additionally, if any of you have any thoughts on where I should send our album (radio stations that play unsigned music, magazinse that review CDs) either in the US or Europe I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
Wayne

Sounds good, Wayne! Keep it up thumbs up

PS: A splitgig the next time we´re in the US would be fun.

We'd be up for sharing a gig, where do you usually tour in the US?

Anyone else take a listen or have any thoughts on where we could send our music in the UK?

In feb/march, we toured NYC to Kansas City. Might do that again next year.

Please keep us posted. Maybe we could work something out.

Wayne,
Is the EP only available for download?

The first EP, 45 RPM, is only available for download. Those are the original versions of some songs that we redid for the new album. Torn and Frayed is available as a CD or download from cdbaby.com and ITunes at the moment.

I'm also working on putting an album review on our website from Bill German.

Thought the same thing (not that I care either!)

But I would've wanted to put some clips of my band to get the board's feedback because I value the feedback here. Tried that a while back which prompted BV to start creating the "stickies" announcing the limited ban of OT's.

Totally agree, Justin.

I wasn't aware that it was an issue. My thought was to get opinions from people that are into the type of music that I play. Nothing more than that. I didn't see it as a big deal. The intent isn't to sell, it's for feedback.

you are preaching to the choir cause we agree with you-its the policy I dont agree with but its bv's site so therefore all I can do is voice an opinion.

Scottkeef's right...it's BV's policy that ain't right...perhaps the title "Torn and Frayed" makes it on topic??

not all OTs are forbidden, just if there are too many, bv might close some.

Well he explicitly said in that sticky that no "look at me" threads are allowed...like look at my band kind of stuff. He said it wasn't "myspace" or a blog to put everything we wanted. Keep the OTs Stones related to some degree is what I took from it.

Alright, Stones related. Here we go. If you go to this website you can read Bill German's review of the CD. Review by Bill German

Hey, at least it's not ANOTHER post about Mick Taylor vs. Ron Wood. smiling smiley

Wetland, you (and a few others here) are doing nothing more than spamming this site. There's nothing wrong with promoting your band, but this isn't the place to do it. Better to use Facebook or MySpace.

Please don't say that, I contribute a bit on this site and am always on topic. Spamming is when there are messages repeatedly posted time and time again. Check my history, I've done no such thing.

Well thank you. That is much appreciated. The whole point was that (as Stones fans) we went for the raw production idea of Exile, the concepts, the tone, feel, vibe, etc. and produced our own original material. In part as a tribute to them in a way.
