ABSOLUTE DYNAMITE! Thanks to everyone who posted information about this program.

I have read a lot about the 1969 Tour and about Altamont (I even read what Sonny Barger wrote about it in his biography) but this program helped fill in and clarify a lot of facts.

The sound quality was excellent as well. I can't wait to download it.

Greetings from the Jersey Shore.

One for the Brits this I guess, but doesn't Sam Cutler sound uncannily like Phil Tufnell?? Kept distracting me while I was listening to this doc...

thanks Deltics....great stuff.

kingkirby - I agree...funny voice.

I must say I'd like Albert Maysles talking about nothing to put me to sleep...he has a very soothing voice !

To Ron S:
yeah it's a bit of a fantasy for reporters to run with the Angels bodyguard thing...it's a good story...but I guess people with no idea would think if Hells Angels were on stage and the Stones weren't beaten up then they MUST have been "bouncers" !

Ron where were you during the Altamont show? where were you watching the show from?
How was the run to the helicopter after the show like?
Did you give the pilot a sling for taking everyone and getting them to safety ?
I can't believe how there was f-all policemen around during the concert...

They still get it wrong... we did not hire the Angels as security or bouncers!!
I think that the BBC show was very well done..and here's a link for the next few days for their player and progam
[www.bbc.co.uk]

bmuseed and eleanor r, how would you say the Hell's Angels came to Altamont that day and why were they there?

Deltics, thanks so much for the mp3 version! Listening soon.

As promised, here's tonight's programme.
This is an Mp3 which you can listen to and/or download here:
altamontdocumentary.mp3 - 38.87MB MP3

altamontdocumentary1.rar - 299.29MB Flac

Rapidshare link for MP3:

The progamme can still be listened to via the BBC website for the next seven days here:

I have to say it again, Deltics. A giant THANK YOU from a Stones fan in the U.S.!!!

And you neatly edited out the few minutes of news from the BBC clip. When I first heard the BBC link, I thought I was listening to the wrong clip (what with the lady announcer talking about Chelsea socc--, err, football). Glad you cleaned it up.

Greetings from the Jersey Shore.
