What was the INTRO like at Boston ?

I just ought to explain the question a bit better ...... I don't mean the song itself (Paint in Black), I mean the bit between when the lights in the stadium go down and they hit the stage ? Was it the same stuff we saw on the video screen as for the ABB tour so far, or something new ?

I don't know. That's the part I generally smoke up during.

I guess you're intro hasn't changed much over the various years/tours....

It could be me but,it seemed shorter than normal.

So how did PIB start? Did Keith come out, position himself and play the guitar intro and then Charlie starts bashing? Or did the guitar line get played off stage?

He was playing it as he appeared, kind of like 1997.

PIB was good, but it did fall a little short as an opener. I think the change of pace in which the lyrics are sung throws it off. The underlying music is very uptempo throughout, but some bars have more lyrics squeezed into them than others. I think that creates an ebb & flow of excitement.

I often think that Rocks Off would be a good opening song. I think it's got great energy, a couple of parts that Mick could interact with the crowd, some spots for Keef to get his Riffs/poses in. One problem with it is that they'd need to have the horns on stage to start the show unless they just left them out. I don't think they (Mick/Keith) would like that.

Opener or not, that's one I'd like to see.

There was an excellent version of Rocks Off played in Boston this past January 15th.

I like the fact that they tried something different as a opener. I really can't say it works until I see it Wednesday at Giants Stadium.

Someone asks a straightforward question and a billion people post bullshit comments/answers. Was it so hard to not make a comment if you werent there? Was it so hard to answer the question if you WERE there? (I for one am thrilled to see it changed up, and will be curious to see the next setlist....)

Hey I'm thrilled that it's something other than SMU or JJF. And now that they finally change it, now people complain about that and want something more familar like SFM? come on guys.....

But like tod says, anything other than Gomper just won't do smiling smiley

boston2006 did answer the question early on in the thread.

"one hit" as the opener would be very cool.

Apparently that is JMARKO's opener every time.

the open was shorter, it stopped at the point when the video goes into hyper speed mode, so no 'big bang' intro...I was a bit dissapointed...you know when you are looking forward to something...
