I just ought to explain the question a bit better ...... I don't mean the song itself (Paint in Black), I mean the bit between when the lights in the stadium go down and they hit the stage ? Was it the same stuff we saw on the video screen as for the ABB tour so far, or something new ?
So how did PIB start? Did Keith come out, position himself and play the guitar intro and then Charlie starts bashing? Or did the guitar line get played off stage?
"...no longer shall you trudge 'cross my peaceful mind."
Call me crazy, but i h ope they change the opening songs for the reast of the dates. Paint it black rocks! but as an opener? i am not sure how i feel about that...your thoughts?

PIB was good, but it did fall a little short as an opener. I think the change of pace in which the lyrics are sung throws it off. The underlying music is very uptempo throughout, but some bars have more lyrics squeezed into them than others. I think that creates an ebb & flow of excitement.
I often think that Rocks Off would be a good opening song. I think it's got great energy, a couple of parts that Mick could interact with the crowd, some spots for Keef to get his Riffs/poses in. One problem with it is that they'd need to have the horns on stage to start the show unless they just left them out. I don't think they (Mick/Keith) would like that.
Someone asks a straightforward question and a billion people post bullshit comments/answers. Was it so hard to not make a comment if you werent there? Was it so hard to answer the question if you WERE there? (I for one am thrilled to see it changed up, and will be curious to see the next setlist....)

boston2006 did answer the question early on in the thread.

I didn't answer on this thread, but I AM offended on behalf of the people that gave bullshit answers!
the open was shorter, it stopped at the point when the video goes into hyper speed mode, so no 'big bang' intro...I was a bit dissapointed...you know when you are looking forward to something...
