Chess Sessions

I thought we should have a look on what The Stones really recorded during the June 1964 sessions and what is available.

A bootleg copy of these recordings have appeared, but there are several tracks which was not recorded there at Chess, but in England.

Songs we know for sure was recorded at Chess and released at the time:

It's All Over Now
Around And Around
If You Need Me
2120 South Michigan Avenue
I Can't Be Satisfied
Empty Heart
Confessin' The Blues
Down The Road Apiece
Look What You've Done

"Tell Me Baby" was released in West Germany in 1983.

From here on oppinions differ:

We know for sure that "Stewed And Keefed" "High Heeled Sneakers" and Down In The Bottom" is also from Chess, and is available on bootleg. What else?

"Don't Lie To Me" also sounds like a Chess recording to me.

What about "Fanny Mae", "Reelin' and Rockin" ??? From later Chess sessions???

These recordings is sometimes also reffered as Chess recordings, but they sound like Regent Sound recordings to me:

Good Times Bad Times
Time Is On My Side (Organ version)

Comment: The concept here is a collection of Chess Studio sessions with the liner notes going as far as to imply that these sides were intended for a Chess release for a re-signed Rolling Stones who had considered abandoning Pop Music for the pure Blues! Is this the lost Blues album from 1964 or are the Stones paying tribute to their significant influences at the end of their first US tour in '64? Well thought out compilation.

Beware, some boots present mono tracks while others offer the stereo versions...
