Ya Ya's - not as good as I hoped...

yes - Satisafaction - very good..
UMT - vry good..

can someone tell me why we have these stupid "fillers" ?? Waiting at airport for Altamont? Ya Ya's album cover? I can think of 100 better things to have a look at than these...

Here's my bitch ..."useless stuff" versus "great stuff"...useless stuff = Altamont waiting / Ya Ya's album stuff....."great stuff" = pre Altamont performance in the tent and tuning guitars / Keith hanging out pre-altamont show with the hippies the night before the show...(I could name more)...Maysles - we want more !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what makes you think there is more?

correct me if i'm wrong....(i think iread) maysles & crew were very conservative
due to budget etc... they didn't just shoot anything that moved...they had a very
specific shooting schedule. if there was additional GOOD/GREAT footage it
probably would have been in the original film.

well according to the book written by Stanley Booth who writes about the 1969 US Tour he mentions incidents when Keith got to Altamont and drank with fans the night before...with film crew... that would be nice....want more? I do !

There's more live footage from MSG. Back in time, there existed a directors cut wich included Prodigal son, You gotta move, and Midnight rambler. The Maysles filmed the afternoon show 27th, and parts of the two others. West Palm Beach was filmed, and we all know that probably the whole Altamont concert was filmed. -And BTW, what about the music that's recorded? Maybe the whole tour exist in soundboard quality.

I actually quite enjoyed the clips. I know it's not musical footage, but it's fun for me to see the interaction, like "Mick, you know Jerry, right?" ...I love the whole youthful ego attitude, and the footage of the cover shoot was funny, I thought. Never realized how cold it was, and the mule sitting there the whole time all loaded up with guitars, and Charlie... BUT that said, I'd love to see a whole show on dvd at some point!

As already mentioned, there is no more great material left!

Many of the filmed stuff has been lost or is ruined. Like many of the recorded tapes from 60/70's. Sad but true.

thing is just because things were filmed or recorded in 1969 doesn't mean it still exists or playable

Some persons never are satisfied. The box é amazing.

The box set is overpriced crap. 5 songs on the 2nd CD? They could have put 15 songs on one cd. They could have included several versions of the songs from different shows. I'm waiting for the Stones to release a box set like Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith and the Beatles have done. IT's time for that.

the box set is basically the way the stones wanted to release ya ya's but decca did not to fool with opening acts .

A DVD with ALL the MSG songs in the right order would have been the way to go. Right now, you have to switch between GS and the Ya-Ya's DVD to see the MSG footage. Having all the live footage on one disc would not have hurt anyone and would have been much better than a 27-minute hodgepodge.

One Man's Opinion.

many persons. I am not talking about one person. It´s a general coment.

You can release what you want. They never are satisfied.

But well.

Jagger and Richards wrote a song about it in 1965, so there

Don't feel bad, boston2006. I bought the CDs+LPs version plus the newly-released DAC 3-CD boot, "Broadway." Amazing how many times they can take the same shows & make them sound different.

Greetings from the Jersey Shore.

The Maysles filmed the afternoon show 27th...

There was no arvo show that day. It was the 28th.

The DVD is infinetly more watchable than the extras that come with Gimme Shelter, though having seen it once, I don't think I'll be in too much of a hurry to play it again.

Under My Thumb and Satisfaction sound fantastic, mind.
