I would love to see them back here in the states by then but the European fans need to get their share of them, that is for sure! I would hate to see them not re-work their schedual to accomidate the postponed/cancelled shows!

This is common knowledge. New York in September was to be Yankee Stadium. MSG New Years Eve.

Dear Source (love the user name) Is it possible the June European shows will be moved to September and then after a short break (2 to 3 weeks) the Stones will return to the USA in say, Late October? Please check your Source on this idea Source....

I wouldnt be suprised at all. I've already heard about small arenas being looked at by the touring staff. It happened on past tours and never came through, but usually that was due to the NCAA tournament. We can only be hopeful.

I hope The Stones to play Yankee Stadium and many other Stadiums in The US. But don't you think, we as poor Europeans deserve the band first.

They have to focus on Europe now. Enough said.

after all that they have put the european fans through.....they really owe it to them to tour europe before even considering coming back to the states.....

well I'm missing both of the European shows I was planning on attending, so let's hope the "source" is correct on this one.

NY is my home area and The Stones usually play MSG. They've played 21 shows there during their career and I've been to most of those shows. But New Years Eve in Manhattan is impossible. They close the streets down for traffic and the whole city is swarming with people who come to "watch the ball drop" at midnight. Its hard to believe the Stones camp would want to be in the middle of such chaos! But if they do it, I'm there!

Yankee Stadium is in use for the baseball games in the fall (Go Yankees!), and last year when the Stones played at Fenway Park in Boston, after the concert the entire field had to be completely ripped up and resodded, costing the Stones alot of additional money to restore the the field for the baseball games.

If the Black Crowes can pull off New Year's Eve at MSG/NY (and play past 2AM), the Stones could as well. However, it just doesn't seem like their cup of tea. MSG for another 3 night run seems more likely. This could be the mini-tour we've been speaking about ~ 3 nights NY, 3 nights Boston, etc.

I just dubt it. Think the Stones will play a couple of postponed European shows in September.

The U.S. tour would not replace the European tour.If you didn't hear,the European tour will start in the first half of July.This does not necessarily mean that they couldn't push the U.S. tour back to October or whatever.It would have to be mostly indoor venues although,they could do some stadiums at the beginning.They played a bunch of outdoor concerts during mid-October 1997.They can also play baseball stadiums,if that's what they decide to do.The extra tickets sold for a baseball stadium show versus a 20,000 seat arena concert would more than make up for any extra money it might cost them to fix the grass.Also,baseball teams do not play all of their games at home.
