News about European opener in Barcelona

Yesterday this newspaper from Spain published this:

If you can´t read in Spanish, it says that the Stones said on May 24th that it is possible to start the tour in Barcelona, but in July; they didn´t say the exactly day, but they said "at the first days of July". All of us must be expecting updates news.

why would they start in Barcelona? They could just pick up the tour wherever they were supposed to play that is in Germany and the gig 15 cities would be performed after England in September. The weather is still very good in Europe at this point. Could be as simple as that!

The weather may not be so very good in Scandinavia in September!

It would be more natural to start in North and go south, together with the temperature on that time of the year!!!

In end of september up in Norway we sometimes have snow. ANd there's always a lot of rain and cold wind in the autumn.

Same rumour for Belgium, at the same date. If everything is true, the Stones will have to hire a few good cover bands....

The has open in Barcelona in 1998 and they canceled it, they has open in 2006 in Barcelona and they canceled it...... Mabye they think they own something to the town...

Appart from this.... I doubt they go to do the 5 five shows on the south (I mean, Oporto, El Ejido, Valladolid, Madrid and Barcelona) in a row... this could be a lost of money.... So or they put Barcelona and Madrid at first of July (many weeks between both rows) or they should cancel any of this shows....

There's no problem to play in Norway in the beginning of september, the first part of that month can be warm. July and August are the two hottest months in Norway, so it will not suddenly be cold in September.

I know that, but if the tour starts late september, and Norway maybe put up later, it could be cold. But we had summer through september too a few years ago. That's why I ment they should start in north and go south.

But I remember reading in Bill Wyman's bible that they played in minus degrees in USA too in 89/90, and had to warm up their hands in buckets of hot water between the songs.

in 1998 they were supposed to open in Berlin. BTW, I assume it had to be bigger mess in 1998 than it is now, cause the accident happen on 18th may, while the first gig was scheduled for 22nd may. 4 days..
