reminds me of Charlie's response when asked in the early 90's what was happening with Bill Wyman

"I think the situation is that he says hes leaving, but we wont let him. Its like the mafia. You cant 'leave'..."

After 27 years of following this band, youre affected for life. Whether you want to be or not.

The only way you leave is dead in a casket - I guess Keith was wrong many times

with fans, and Taylor and Wyman

Many of us come on these boards to celebrate the stones best days. I agree with you Aucoin the Stones no longer do it for me either but i'm not going to discount all the years the they were 'the greatest rock 'n' roll band in the world'.

To me the sad thing is that these posts are creeping up more and more. It does stand to reason that with more and more time on the planet there is equally more time for people to have their fill. But this last tour in particular has done something. It creates a new feeling for me; and it seems like for other hardcore lifers.
Of course I can never discxount the Stones. They have been everything to me that has ever meant anything in life. But I just can not deny - I am just not excited by them anymore. I collected everything obsessively for...forever, I guess. Every article, picture, recording. Now I just don't really care. I am a bit pissed off at them. Can't help it.

If you're sick of the Stones, OK. But why are you on this forum still?

well he just said he's leaving, give him time to pack things
I appreciate the decision. It's clear and to me, much more effective than those who live here to express ONLY their distaste of the band as is now.

There can be many good reasons to be "not addicted" to this band anymore. I am still, but I can understand.

Maybe it is as simple as what Harm says "It's those damn stadium concerts"
Maybe it is just they become too lazy to give more thrill.

To me, it is still surprising how those lazy butts can still rock and roll
It's great to me it does not have to be for everyone

Really BB? Why is that?

As many others I think the setlist smells funny
(but I dont find a pleasure in stating that over & over:
and stuff like ATPTB & Sway recently more frequented
gives much hope); and many of the shows I got on cd or in the computer
just dont rock. It's more of a ceremonial act just to see them.
I may change my mind after June 10. Hope so.

It's a pity Keith & mick are so stubborn they dont listen to Chuckies excellent suggestions for song-choices.

So for you, it's all about the live stuff then? For me seeing them live is great, but it's not what keeps me here. The studio stuff is more than enough to keep my interest.

Just to avoid misunderstandings:
I believe 98% of all rock music made after 1973 stinks severely.
99,9% of the rock made after 1980 even worse.
It'äs no personal against Stones; they are 'least unbearable'.

Hard to play mean rock in a cruel world... ?

Hmmmm interesting.

Well I have to say, Mr. BB. I've always had my suspicions about you. Mainly because you didn't become such a fan till later in life. I've wondered if this is just a passing fancy for you.

Well this thought has come once or twice during the years since
1964. Every time it has ended with another question:

"What other band can do it for me like Rolling Stones has done for me over the years"?

The answer is: "None"!, so here I am and will keep on as long as I live.
Especially as this band puts up energy enough to tour and give me a good
time listening to their music.

Simle as that!

I do believe I can be called an idiot or yet again a real Stones fan!

Happy Easter by the way, everyone!

That is not a question I really think about. I don't love the Rolling Stones because they fill a void, and if I ever do lose my love for them, I don't feel as though I will need a replacement. If something comes along that captures me the way they have, then I'll know it, I won't have to look for it.

It's like love, you can't look for it, it just finds you.

Hey hey, now it's getting a little too deep. What about some sexually orientated and quasi-insulting posts, hmm?

Hey Cindy!

It came natural to me in 1964 and has always been!
But life isn't static in any way and sometimes you ask yourself
questions just to be make sure for yourself that one indeed are in
the right position concerning things in life!

No matter what!

It's no capital crime to sometimes ask yourself these questions!

Hi, no you're right, I believe it's smart to question things. I guess it was the replacement part that bothered me a little. Are you a male or female? I was going on the assumption that you were a male.

I've noticed that when a man and woman break up, the man tends to get right back out there and dates, looking for the next thing, while the woman tends to stay home pondering what happened.

For some reason, when you made that statement, this is what came to my mind.

Well Cindy I'm a male and I'm having a habbit to be very cautious
in every aspect of life!

So I wouldn't change this band for any other band just like that.
It would take some deep thought.

Happy Easter Cindy and everyone else *smile*
