The Stones have had wilderness years. But so have I as a fan. But afterwards I got back to them. And I can't imagine my life without them. Even today on Hot Stuff IORR Cafaro has treated me to hearing Pigalle for the first time. I thought I had all their songs. WRONG. That's one reason they keep my faith. Almost every week on Hot Stuff I hear more and more Stones stuff. It's almost like being 30 years younger. Finding new stuff I have never heard. Like Let It Bleed Sessions.FANTASTIC! And the Stones still make front page news, like on the Financial Times last week with Mick's contraversional comment about the Chinese censorship of their songs. It just keeps on coming.

To jagger50!

I certainly agree with you.
The only thing that has changed is their age.
Still same old rebells not just that violent anymore!

Been Stoned since 1964 and still am!

It's all about enjoyment, and there's probably some Stones music that you still enjoy. Put those favourites on a CD, and I bet you'll play it now and then!

Now its no longer The Spanish Inqusition...

It's McCarthy or KGB in disguise.
I hope you takin' p*ss, Cindy; but I cant see
the tongue in cheek??

I'm no flock person, it that's what ya aimin at!
Will never jump into a nerdy overall
or any fraud fan tee just to fit into the RS Party's credo.

If yer supiscicions is that I uncritically will buy
& defend anything the Stones LTD sh*ts out - yes,
it's a passing fancy.
I have loved The Rolling Stones since 1966, when I first heard
Satisfaction. Only thing I was only 2½ years by then.
The development of my life have constantly been rising obstacles
for me to see them or to evolve a hardcore fanship.
I aint no -ist, no politix, no religion, no nothing.
I dont want to stuck... Is that a crime?
I missed Stones in 1982 cause I made my first interrail by then.
1990 I lived in a cabin in the deep forests. 1995... Created a new little family. 1998 much work etc. 2003 no money; family gres from five to seven
people. 2006: will see them.
Are you satisfied with this explanation, Cindy McC.?

What about that Ulster chap? He loves Springsteen & Dylan as mush as the Stones,
maybe even more.

Would I spend thousands of hours here & make 800 postings
if I wasnt a fan? Devil knows. Seriously: come on!!!!!!!
What would I do with the 3,000 Stones-tracks in my computer
if I drop this?? All the records? Dvd's?

You can love other things and still be a devoted fan,

HAHAHA BB, Did I hit a nerve?

I'm sorry if you didn't see my tongue in cheek, but believe me, it was there. Certainly no harm intended. I am not a mean person by nature, just when provoked, and your earlier posting had not provoked me.

Thanks for the bio though. Pretty interesting stuff. Lots of people on this board have lived/do live in cabins in the woods. Ever notice that?

I'll never be through listening to their music, but lately I am feeling that I'm through seeing them live again unless they make significant changes in their setlist.

I say there is a "Startmeupization" that is a threat here.
You could also call it "MissYouzation".
As soon as only one tune is performed half-hearted; you're
on a bad track.

Cut SMU for good - now! Throw if off board!
(yeah, yeah, it sounded good at PC May 10, 2005: but that
was the Exception, plus it was the first song performed in some 1½ year.)
I take a dozen YGMR before SMU!
I know many here love MU;
but could we please unite around that 'cut SMU'-thing?!

Off the top of my head, I was thinking of Luke and Erik, but I feel like there was someone else too.

Anyway, sorry if it seemed like you were being scrutinized. Next time, just tell me to F off.

If I had done that, people would have missed all the juicy pix.
Some dude also used the word: "traitor"; and imho thats a word you dont use
just like that.
Anyway, when the days comes to an end; I dont give a crap about what anybody
thinks. My postings speaks - plenty: I aint a man of few words,

If you've been with The Stones for 27 years, you must just be somewhere addicted forever to those very firsts 30 seconds of a stadium or arena show. Magic momentums only The Stones can deliver.

Your postings do speak for themselves. Always well said. Good to see you again Mr. Bro. and yeah, I live in a log cabin. Seriously.

To Aucoin and others who have "given up": it isn't the Stones at all. It's YOU-- you've finally let the bastards drag you down, and you've given up hope. Your faith is gone, and you've turned into fatalistic cynics.

This is NOT the kind of worldview I desire to impart upon my child, so I hope you don't have any kids.

Don't leave Aucoin. You have to have faith man! I've only been a Stones fan for 17 years but they still do it for me. You just have to take a little time trip and go back to their hayday. Go back and listen to their early stuff or something. Get caught up in it again! But if you wanna go, then we won't stop ya. Take care.

Good post Stones89.
How come all these people write shit to him,
Aucoin have made really great posts.
What kind of Nazi-fans are we? It's sad that he leaves.

Erik, I'M GLAD he's gone. How DARE you accuse anyone of being a Nazi fan. This is NOT the place for political discussion. There are other forums for that.

I'd be happy to discuss with you privately. gehiggin@hotmail.com

Hey you guys -

Don't know what part of the world y'all are from, but down here in Australia we don't get many chances to see the Stones so when they make it here it's a really big deal and incredibly exciting.
Just saw the Sydney and Melb. shows and haven't come back to earth yet, don't know how anyone can say the're lazy, they seemed to be giving their all.

And they continue to excite even 41 years on from my first live show

I kind of think our own Micksbrain would prefer that Mr Bush, Mr Rumsfeld and Mr Cheney be strung up by their testicles and hung from the giant letters of the Hollywood sign in L.A. like ornaments on a Christmas tree. Go figure!
Btw I love that the Rolling Stones are once again showing the entire world that they are the BEST rockers ever.

I don't know Aucoin personally, but I don't dig all the flak thrown at him. Like I said before, I hate how much can understand his decision.
