Just a freaked out thread with a tiny connection to Rio... ?
Loosen yer inner restrictions and make it a Poet´s Corner...
Open microphone, no dirty words but otherwise-
get it on!

Mr. Baboon Bro,
I love the idea you presented. Let's hear what the poets among us have to say. But, could you please jump start this thread with a different image than the testosterone heavy bloody one, above?
Thanks.

So it´s annoyin'? smiling smiley Good! It´s a pic from a performance some theatre friends of mine did. I only put it away if I can throw in some other deep'n'heavy stuff instead... So... Just wait 'n' see...

I lay my gun powder here instead... I will get somethin' creepy for ya,
Lukester... (try this till next time: [www.bloody-disgusting.com] ? ) ...

A FEAST OF FRIENDS

Wow, I’m sick of doubt
Live in the light of certain
South
Cruel bindings.
The servants have the power
Dog-men and their mean women
Pulling poor blankets over
Our sailors

I’m sick of dour faces
Staring at me from the tv
Tower, I want roses in
My garden bower; dig?
Royal babies, rubies
Must now replace aborted
Strangers in the mud
These mutants, blood-meal
For the plant that’s plowed.

They are waiting to take us into
The severed garden
Do you know how pale and wanton thrillful
Comes death on a strange hour
Unannounced, unplanned for
Like a scaring over-friendly guest you’ve
Brought to bed
Death makes angels of us all
And gives us wings
Where we had shoulders
Smooth as raven’s
Claws

No more money, no more fancy dress
This other kingdom seems by far the best
Until it’s other jaw reveals incest
And loose obedience to a vegetable law.

I will not go
Prefer a feast of friends
To the giant family.

(J. D. MORRISON)

Rio, Rio, Rio
El stones esta mucho caliente
and the slums blood ved violent
Pissing like cats in the sand,
bikinis on skin so tanned.
The passion, the rhythm of life
ran hand in hand with the wild
feathered sounds
of these primordial souls on stage
into the cool sea's rage....

Yes, Lukester, in about 5 minutes! It's amazing how the stones inspire me!!! smiling smiley

This is my drawing of Keith, the first drawing I ever did...

The first drawing you ever did? Very good. i like the hair and head band thing.

But this poem, five minutes? I like the rythym. It paints an image. My favorite line is probably "bikinis on skin so tanned," but the slum line also moves me. Keep up the good work.

Are there others out there? Miss U, do you have others too?

Let the creativity flooowww.

Feast of Friends is powerful, and disturbing, and hopeless, yet defiant, if that's possible. Cool poem. Nice images.

What about you, Lukester; try writing one.
I wrote this one a long time ago, about Brian Jones. (Morrison influence evident):

Lord of the colors of the day
Untamed Awakener of Hearts
Mover Shaker
Dreamer
Heart---hope
Head---blues
Jajouka trancer
Hysteria Fear Fornication Panic
Rif mountains swimming
up under the moonlight
Morning's son
Vine-ripened seed
Many-jewelled one
Hunter Hunted
Wild beast Goat-god
A breath of panic
borne on the air.
STOP
Spirit
Shattered
Reflected
by tiny Jagged mirrors.
Mirage
Distortion
Confusion
Deception
Ever-changing, eternal, enigmatic
psychedelic
Kaleidoscope.
Collide-eau-sss-cope.
Come to us!
You are dry; drink of us.
I am the dew-filled flower
That opens to your golden shaft,
To your mood-ringed eyes,
And stained-glass soul.
Colorful labyrinthine shapeshifter,
Veiled,
Foggy,
& cryptic
Are his patterns.
Dangerous, magnetic
Solar eclipse
Who dares shed the blinders?
Father of Flocks,
Searching for your mother-figure,
Transform your colors
Yet again for us,
As we peer into your depths.
Shake,
Rattle &
Roll.
Too dazzling for some.
Sonic barrior.
Sonic boom.

I love it, Miss You. I think you captured the psychedelic images really well. There seems to also be a tension between conflicting images, which in my opinion probably expresses the tension that must have existed in Brian's brief visit on Earth. Also some references were very sensual (or is it sensuous?), I'm sure you know which ones. You should keep writing. You seem to have a gift, not that I am qualified to make that judgment. At your encouragement, here's a quick one:

Sounds of slamming doors,
broken glass on concrete floors,
shattered hopes and dreams
fade behind my speeding car.
I am chased by love once more.

Lukester, ya can just stop waitin... At least for some days or some weeks.
Had a severe, mean physical, rhytmic, hardcore, Shaman poetry group
cruisin & tourin the Nordic/Scandinavian countries some 15 years ago,
but nowaday I mainly cruise with my kids to their sports activities... smiling smiley
Gotta see if I can find some Absinthe or slt...

Hi Miss U!
I love your poetry and artwork. I like the way you captured the chain and necklace around Keith's neck. I also liked your pictures on the other thread. You are lovely and talented and more importantly nice. The first drawing I ever did was a still life of a Coleman lantern. My art teacher lacked imagination and the ability to invoke passion in his students.

Hello Mr. Baboon,
I understand completely. I drive my two daughters everywhere. They aren't old enough yet to drive. In fact my 15 year old is here at the office working with me today because school is closed due to snow.

Bro, we will dust off the ol' absynthe (spelling?) another day. I've got a little writer's block going on anyway. It's called "I'm at work."

How about the rest of you writers? Feel like sharing?

Miss U, from one artist to another, the Keith picture was absolutely fantastic! I loved it! More, more! I did some Stones sketches back in the early 90's. If I can find them maybe I'll post some. Then again, I'm very critical of my own artwork so ya never know...smiling smiley

Let it rip, Mr. Stones89. And the rest of you artists, take a photo of your work, or scan it, upload and entertain us, please...there's no concert to watch.

Really? It's beautiful. It seems to have even more texture than that. The gazillion little dots must have been time consuming. Great artistic focus, uh in my humble opinion.

Just some notes:
Today we had -15 degree. Celsius, -19 just arount the hill.
We drove three of our kids to ski activities with their schools,
one to skating, one to an outdoor excursion & the tiny one to kindergarten.
We celebrate a berfday for our 9-y o today; will clean the
house most of the day. Will try to spend a couple of hours workin.
I´m glad my old dad can skip his duties for a while and help us this
afternoon... All this means; I probably will not write any new poem today either. But soon... (?)

But I agree: More creativity... As my motto was when I was 25.

- Live it all out!
- Free Yourself!
- Make love & Love! ...Turn on, tune in & drop out! smiling smiley

And I can share my day dream; will move to Jamaica after the kids have moved
away, drink Rhume & enjoy certain vegetables while bing bing ding a dangin out
ds music on da sound sistem I run just outside the local store.
...Keith hangs around in afternoons, talkin Otis & Toots & Johnson(-s, Robert & Johnnie) & Sumlin & Flynn & Spanish Tony & Belushi & Jah...

Thank you,Luke. As they say time waits for no one, so I have not had much time lately to be drawing, but I hope to do Ronnie, Charlie & Brian sometime in the future...

Baboon Bro, that's a beautiful dream! I would love to live by a lake, or the ocean....
