MICK WAS ON FIRE TONIGHT!!!
Posted by: DREAMTIME ()

Mick Jagger was the surprise guest at the second night of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25th Anniversary Benefit Concerts held at Madison Square Garden, New York City the 29th & 30th of October 2009.

U2 was the final act with special guests The Black-Eyed Peas and then Fergie joined U2 for the start of Gimme Shelter when Mick appeared on the stage! He was unbelievable! Like a 18 year old again and looking ready to tour! The New York Audience gave Mick such a greeting he knew he was home!

But this was the best rendition of Gimme Shelter in a long time. Fergie was so hot like a 60's Go-Go Dancer in her black mini-skirt showing her thunderous thighs as she kicked her feet in the air and danced like there was no tomoorow!

It will be aired on HBO in November and I'm sure that number will be included!

He sure was! And Fergie did a great job on Gimme Shelter. He also did Stuck in A Moment.

(Personally I'd also have loved to hear Metallica backing Ray Davies for "All Day and All Of The Night" and "You Really Got Me" )

Jagger strutted out from the wings after U2 had started playing his Rolling Stones song, "Gimme Shelter," and belted it as a duet with the Black Eyed Peas' Fergie (and a little vocal help from U2's Bono as well). Next came an even more surprising number: a soulful, low-key duet by Jagger and Bono on the U2 song "Stuck In a Moment That You Can't Get Out Of." The song came off like a cousin of the Stones' "Beast of Burden."

Mick looks fantastic in these pics! It's SO GOOD to see him out there....I've been amazed how some people have complained about him singing with U2.

Interesting that they played Stuck in a Moment...I am pretty sure Mick and his daughter, Lizzie, recorded back-up vocals on this which ended up not being on the final release. Can't wait to hear it!

Jann Wenner only has any use for "new" artists when they are willing to kiss the asses of the 1960s artists that HE likes.

Interesting that they played Stuck in a Moment

Why would you say that, I think it's VERY appropriate. "STUCK IN A MOMENT YOU CAN'T GET OUT OF" sounds like the Stones in November, 2009. Shall we tour? Yes, No? Shall we record a new album for 2010 Yes, No? Are we still a working band Yes, No?..... works for me....

....isn't STUCK IN A MOMENT YOU CAN'T GET OUT OF the one in which Mick originally sang back up on the album version but then got edited out?

I think you misunderstood. I thought it was interesting how Mick also sang on this when it was being recorded....I was just thinking to myself that maybe Mick really likes this song. I do. I can't wait to hear this version.

Yes !

Jagger, who sang “Stuck in a Moment You Can’t Get Out Of” with U2, also danced a duet with the Black Eyed Peas’ Fergie on “Gimme Shelter.” Jagger stuck his microphone in his waistband as the black mini-skirted Fergie approached. U2 stood in the background, the world’s most expensive “house band,” as Jagger called them.
