OT: Mick Taylor covers the Stones
Posted by: mccparty ()

Is this a repeat thread?

Started thinking of Stones material (original & cover) that MT has performed live:

Stop Breaking Down
Silver Train (w/ Carla Olson)
Sway (ditto)
No Expectations
You Gotta Move
Jumping Jack Flash (Yes? I thought I saw him perform this one but may be wrong)
Can’t You Hear Me Knocking (instrumental)
Time Waits for No One (performed as a Guest guitarist)

Are there others?

When I saw him in '87, he covered Hendrix's Third STONE From The Sun.

The start is a mess

L.O. is aware of a sloppy beginning versus the crisp start of album version. Differently played in concert, still pretty good.

On "Too Hot for Snakes" (Plus) there is a version of "Winter". There is also "Think I'm goin' Mad", I'm not sure, but I guess it is a Jagger/Richards-composition.

"Think I'm Going Mad " IS the Stones song but performed as an instrumental. Mick also did "Leather Jacket" on his first solo LP. and "Seperately" on the Japanese "Stones Throw" release. Neither song has Jagger or Richards credited in any way but they ARE the same songs thats on many Stones boots! So I guess they were MT's or we woulda heard a fuss?
