Seems like a cheesy/oldies act kind of thing.

I've never understood some people's fascination with Springsteen, but as far as doing whole albums goes, I'd be happy to watch the Stones do Forty Licks.

Come On , guys!
Playing entire albums isn't something really new.
The Who played Tommy in its entirety in the late 60ies. They weren't an oldie act.
Metallica played the entire Master Of Puppets a few years ago
Iron Maiden toured playing their whole latest album 2 years ago, with classics as encores
Pink Floyd did it too if I make no mistake
The Stones never performed 100% of the songs of any given album live, even if you cumulate all their tours.

I can just imagine the dismay in his face when they blast through the opening two songs of an 'Exile' set and then the casual fans and corporate freeloaders start the trek to the bog once the band start playing 'Shake Your Hips'...[/quote
I think the booing would start about halfway into Casino Boogie

No doubt the last twenty years have been blissful for you!
Right, that's why I said doing all of Exile isn't real practical. But what about on a second leg when you counting mainly on diehards at this point anyway. Playing all of Sticky Fingers or Some Girls could help put some butts in the seats as they say.Quote

Every song from Out of Our Heads (US), Let It Bleed (if you count the snatch of 'Country honk' played at Knebworth), Sticky Fingers, Black and Blue and Some Girls have been performed in concert.
Wouldnt work with the Stones now anyway because of the audience they're tailoring a show towards. Leavell has even indicated that Mick wont sing more than one ballad per show, wont sing certain deep album cuts or songs from the Brian jones era that arent on compilations etc in case he loses the crowd's interest. A strange lack of self confidence for a performer of his reputation and talent. I can just imagine the dismay in his face when they blast through the opening two songs of an 'Exile' set and then the casual fans and corporate freeloaders start the trek to the bog once the band start playing 'Shake Your Hips'...

Yep..they did 8 out of the 10 Some Girls songs pretty much every night in '78 (almost all back to back mid-show as well). Only 'Before the make me run' (which they could easily have added without much complaint) and 'Some Girls' were omitted.
